DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a display panel including a pixel and an emission line connected to the pixel, an emission driver which provides an emission signal defining emission periods and non-emission periods to the emission line, and a controller which determines an emission cycle corresponding to a number of the discontinuous emission periods during a frame period and an emission-off ratio which is a ratio of a sum of the non-emission periods to the frame period. An n.sup.th frame period between an n1.sup.th frame period and an n+1.sup.th frame period in which the emission cycles are different and the emission-off ratios are equal includes first to m.sup.th sub-frame periods in which the emission-off ratios are different.
TIMING CONTROLLER AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels in a display region defined therein to emit light based on an emission signal, and a timing controller to receive an image signal and drive the display panel. The timing controller includes a gray level setting circuit which calculates a plurality of representative gray levels by dividing the display region into a plurality of regions, based on the image signal, a signal determining circuit which receives a plurality of lookup tables storing a duty ratio of the emission signal and select one of the plurality of lookup tables, based on the plurality of lookup tables and the plurality of representative gray levels, and a correcting circuit which controls the duty ratio of the emission signal provided during a frame, based on the one of the plurality of lookup tables.
Pixel and display device
The present embodiments disclose a display device. A display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an array of pixels, each pixel connected to a respective luminous element. The array of pixels comprises a first pixel comprising a first memory to configured to store image data to drive a first luminous element; and at least one pixel directly adjacent to the first pixel, each of the at least one pixel comparing a second memory electrically connected to the first memory, wherein the second memory is configured to receive the n-bit data from the first memory.
Method and apparatus of generating drive signal for light emitting element
A method for generating a drive signal for driving a light emitting element of a display. The method includes: dividing the M bits into MN1+1 data ranges, each including N1 consecutive bits of the M bits; determining N2 bits for uniquely identifying the MN1+1 data ranges; generating a coded signal of N1+N2 bits for representing the M bits of the input signal; based on the coded signal, generating the drive signal comprising a sequence of N1 bits, each bit of said sequence of N1 bits controlling a current through the light emitting element or a voltage across the light emitting element, during a time interval, one bit at a time.
