Generating with a second sub-system, anti-noise that is configured to reduce or cancel noise occurring at the listening position. The first active noise control sub-system has a higher robustness than the second active noise control sub-system.

AUTOMATIC NOISE CONTROL

Active noise control system and methods are disclosed that include generating anti-noise that is configured to reduce or cancel noise occurring at a listening position in the ambiance of a seat with a backrest enclosing a hollow volume. Radiating the anti-noise from within the hollow volume of the backrest of the seat.

Wearable Audio Device Feedforward Instability Detection
20220053260 · 2022-02-17 ·

A system for detecting feedforward instability in a wearable audio device. The audio device includes an electro-acoustic transducer that is configured to develop sound for a user, a housing that holds the transducer, a feedforward microphone that is configured to detect sound outside of the housing and output a microphone signal, and an opening in the housing that emits sound pressure from the transducer that can reach the microphone. A feedforward instability detector is configured to apply two filters to the microphone signal. A first filter passes more energy in a frequency band than does a second filter, to develop a filtered signal. The filtered signal is compared to the microphone signal outside of the frequency band, to develop a comparison signal that is indicative of feedforward instability in the frequency band.

Noise reduction system

According to one embodiment, a noise reduction system for reducing noise including impact noise repetitively generated at a time interval includes the following elements. The error signal generator generates an error signal based on the noise being detected. The delay signal generator has a time delay characteristic and delays a signal, which is generated based on the error signal, to generate a delay signal, the time delay characteristic being determined based on an imaging sequence or pre-scanning by the MRI device and corresponding to the time interval. The control filter generates the first control signal from the delay signal. The loudspeaker unit includes at least one pair of a first filter and a control loudspeaker and a transmission unit.

An active noise reduction system using adaptive filters. A method of operation the active noise reduction system includes smoothing a stream of leakage factors. The frequency of a noise reduction signal may be related to the engine speed of an engine associated with the system within which the active noise reduction system is operated. The engine speed signal may be a high latency signal and may be obtained by the active noise reduction system over audio entertainment circuitry.

A method performed by an audio system that includes a headset with a left headset housing and a right headset housing. The method includes driving a speaker of the left headset housing with an audio signal, determining whether audio howl is present within the left headset housing by comparing spectral content from a first error microphone signal produced by a first error microphone of the left headset housing and spectral content from a second error microphone signal produced by a second error microphone of the right headset housing, and, in response to determining that audio howl is present, filtering the audio signal to mitigate the audio howl.

SELECTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION
20220238091 · 2022-07-28 · ·

An information handling system presents audio information as audible sounds that include noise cancellation generated in response to environmental noise patterns detected by a microphone. For example, a machine learning model generates noise cancellation for plural environmental noise patterns, such as a baby crying, a dog barking, and a door bell ringing. The noise cancellation engine selectively applies and disables one or more types noise cancellation with the model based upon context at the information handling system, such as an application running on the system, a time of day or other factors.
