MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE AND METHOD
According to one embodiment, a magnetic disk device includes a magnetic disk, a magnetic head, a sensor, a non-volatile semiconductor storage device, and a controller. The magnetic head performs writing and reading to and from the magnetic disk. The sensor detects a degree of a physical influence applied from an outside. The controller generates a log when a detection value detected by the sensor satisfies a condition for abnormality determination, and stores the log in the non-volatile semiconductor storage device in response to generation of the log.

Apparatus, system, and method for preventing shock-induced hard drive damage
A shack-sensor apparatus may include a sensor configured to detect a positional state of a hard-drive drawer. The shock-sensor apparatus may also include a mounting component coupled to the sensor and configured to mount the sensor in a location to monitor the positional state of the hard-drive drawer. In addition, the shock-sensor apparatus may include a computing module, electronically coupled to the sensor, that analyzes sensor data provided by the sensor to predict a shock event of the hard-drive drawer and send, in response to predicting the shock event, a signal to at least one hard drive in the hard-drive drawer to prevent damage to the hard drive. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.

METHOD FOR DETECTING THE TILTING OF HARD DISK DRIVE BASED ON FIRST AND SECOND CONTROL UNITS
An electronic device includes a sensing unit, a first control unit, and a second control unit. The sensing unit detects a parameter of the electronic device when the electronic device is tilted and sends a detection signal if the detected parameter exceeds the critical parameter. The first control unit and the second control unit receive the detection signal from the sensing unit. If the first control unit receives the detection signal before the second control unit, the first control unit controls the mechanical hard disk to power off and controls a magnetic head on the mechanical hard disk to reset from a working position to an original position. If the second control unit receives the detection signal before the first control unit, the second control unit controls the magnetic head on the mechanical hard disk to reset from the working position to the original position.
