ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND THE METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THEREOF
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display, a sensing panel, and a processor operatively connected with the display and the sensing panel, wherein the processor is configured to display content on the display, display an object corresponding to a handwriting input on the content, based on the handwriting input sensed by the sensing panel, in response to a first keyword being recognized based on at least part of the handwriting input, perform character recognition on an additional handwriting input entered after input of the first keyword, and in response to a character recognition end event being identified, provide text obtained by the character recognition on the additional handwriting input as a hashtag for the displayed content.
Pausing and resuming media files
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for the presentation and marking of media modules. In different aspects, the systems and methods may allow a user to present and consume a media module, particularly a media module containing data that is typically presented in a serial manner such as audio, visual, or video media, and to create a marked media module for quickly and easily returning to a marked point of interest in the media module at a later time or on a different device.
Multifunction multimedia device
A method for interpreting messages, user-defined alert conditions, voice commands and performing an action in response is described. A method for annotating media content is described. A method for presenting additional content associated with media content identified based on a fingerprint is described. A method for identifying that an advertisement portion of media content is being played based on a fingerprint derived from the media content is described. A method of one media device recording particular media content automatically in response to another media device recording the particular media content is described. A method of concurrently playing media content on multiple devices is described. A method of publishing information associated with recording of media content is described. A method of deriving fingerprints by media devices that meet an idleness criteria is described. A method of loading, modifying, and displaying a high definition frame from a frame buffer is described. A method of recording or playing media content identified based on fingerprints is described.
Content Reproducing Apparatus and Content Reproducing Method
A memory portion stores automated reproducing setting data that associates content input sources with necessariness/unnecessariness of automated reproduction of content. A control portion, when an operation-display portion or a remote control reception portion accepts selection of a content input source, judges whether or not automated reproduction is necessary on content that is inputted from the currently selected input source, based on the automated reproducing setting data. Also, the control portion starts outputting, at an audio signal output portion and a video signal output portion, a reproducing signal on the content that is inputted from the currently selected input source, when judging that automated reproduction of the content is necessary.
Randomly accessible visual information recording medium and recording method, and reproducing device and reproducing method
Access point pictures designated as randomly accessible positions are I pictures or P pictures. Information indicating the decoding sequence (I1, P1, B1, B2, B3, B4, P2, . . . ) of pictures functioning as access points and attribute information (picture_type) indicating whether a picture functions as an access point or is necessary for decoding of the access point following a given access point are recorded on the video information recording medium. Random access is possible even if the GOP interval is lengthened.

PLAYING APPARATUS, PLAYING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
The present technology relates to a playing apparatus, a playing method, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program, and a recording medium that allow playing of appropriate HDR videos. A playing apparatus in an aspect of the present technology has a storage unit that has regions for storing a plurality of units of information indicating the state of the playing apparatus including preference information indicating the type of an HDR video to be preferentially played, out of a first HDR video that is essential in including in a content an HDR video as a video in a wider brightness range than a standard brightness range and a second HDR video that is capable of being included in the content. The playing apparatus acquires encoded data of the HDR video to be preferentially played indicated by the preference information, out of encoded data of the first HDR video and encoded data of the second HDR video, and decodes the acquired encoded data. The present technology is applicable to Blu-ray disc players.
Information accumulation apparatus, data processing system, and program
When data generated by devices (30) arrive in an order of time instants of generation of the data, the data are additionally described (written) to an actual data recording unit (12b) in an order of arrival of the data, and, meanwhile, a time instant, at which the data additionally written to the actual data recording unit (12b) is generated, a data size, and a position of postscript in an actual data file are additionally written, as index information, to an index file (12a) having a file name corresponding to the actual data file in which the data is recorded.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING SEEK POSITIONS
Aspects of the technology include receiving (702) data indicative of a change from a first status to a second status, generating (704) a timestamp indicative of a time at which the change in status occurred, and storing (706) the timestamp in memory. Further aspects include receiving (708) data indicative of a reversion to the first status and, responsive thereto, retrieving (710) data indicative of the timestamp from memory. Additionally, aspects include providing (712) data indicative of the timestamp to an application configured for making content available to a user. The data indicative of the timestamp may initiate playback of the content to a time at which the change in status occurred.
MONITORING AUDIO-VISUAL CONTENT WITH CAPTIONS
To monitor audio-visual content which includes captions, caption fingerprints are derived from a length of each word in the caption, without regard to the identity of the character or characters forming the word. Audio-visual content is searched to identify a caption event having a matching fingerprint and missing captions; caption timing errors and caption discrepancies are measured.
