SYSTEM AND METHOD TO CREATE A MEDIA CONTENT SUMMARY BASED ON VIEWER ANNOTATIONS
A method includes receiving, at a media server, a request to create a media content summary. The request includes a user-specified criterion. The method includes identifying segments of media content based on annotation data. The annotation data includes annotations associated with a first segment of the segments and a second segment of the segments. The first segment is identified based on a number of corresponding annotations. The method further includes generating the media content summary by automatically changing a first size of the first segment and a second size of the second segment such that a total size of the media content summary satisfies the user-specified criterion.
Image processing apparatus and control method thereof
An image processing apparatus includes: an adjusting unit configured to perform a color adjustment process on an input image and generate an output image: a determining unit configured to determine an approximate expression which approximates conversion characteristics of the color adjustment process; and an outputting unit configured to output color adjustment information including information representing the approximate expression determined by the determining unit, wherein when the adjusting unit performs the color adjustment process on a partial region of the input image, the outputting unit outputs, as the color adjustment information, information including the information representing the approximate expression determined by the determining unit and region information representing the partial region.
Tape data management
Systems and methods for managing data with respect to tape storage are provided. The system includes a data manager for receiving metadata related to content and for generating a proxy file system which mirrors the data structure of the content data. The system further includes a server coupled to a tape device, the server receiving the content data directly from a data source and providing the content data the tape device for storage on a formatted tape media.
Operational system and architectural model for improved manipulation of video and time media data from networked time-based media
The present invention provides a novel operational system and electronic architectural model for organizing and improving viewing and editing of time-based video media and for overcoming the detriments required by the previous film and video industry based editing technologies. The present system enables an operator to manipulate the visual and audio perception of underlying video and audio data without changing the same. A series of metadata modules enable real-time operation and editing of video data and control of a play back module as well as an improved sharing, viewing, searching, and showing of underlying video and audio data.
Server side crossfading for progressive download media
Systems and methods are provided to implement and facilitate cross-fading, interstitials and other effects/processing of two or more media elements in a personalized media delivery service. Effects or crossfade processing can occur on the broadcast, publisher or server-side, but can still be personalized to a specific user, in a manner that minimizes processing on the downstream side or client device. The cross-fade can be implemented after decoding the relevant chunks of each component clip, processing, recoding and rechunking, or, the cross-fade or other effect can be implemented on the relevant chunks to the effect in the compressed domain, thus obviating any loss of quality by re-encoding. A large scale personalized content delivery service can limit the processing to essentially the first and last chunks of any file, there being no need to processing the full clip.
Footage extraction method, footage playback method, and device
A footage extraction device includes a processor that executes a process. The process includes receiving a designation including a particular ball count status and a ball count change trend from an initial status of a ball count to the particular ball count status, and, by the processor, extracting, from stored baseball footage, footage with a ball count status that is attained after the ball count status has changed according to the designated ball count change trend, and that corresponds to the designated particular ball count status.
Video content distribution package
Systems and methods are provided for a content distribution system, packaged as executable instructions stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium. The system includes a cross-platform video player, implemented as machine executable instructions executable on a host computer having any of a plurality of different operating environments and a video comprising a plurality of video frames. The system further includes a library of content items associated with the video. The library of content items includes a plurality of content items and metadata relating each of the content items to associated spatial locations in at least one frame of the video. Each of the cross-platform video player, the video, and the library of content items are packaged as a single cross-platform executable file.
Method and system for suspending playing of media content while interacting with an associated interactive application
Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling the playback and recording of television programming containing interactive applications. In one example, a media content item is played for presentation to the user. An interactive application associated with the media content item is available for interaction by a user during the playing of the media content item. During the playing of the media content item, a first indication that the user is interacting with the interactive application is received. In response to the first indication, the playing of the media content item is suspended. During the suspending of the playing of the media content item, a second indication that the user has stopped interacting with the interactive application is received. In response to the second indication, the playing of the media content item is resumed.
Situational awareness
Police officers are provided with client devices capable of capturing multimedia and streaming multimedia. The client devices can upload captured multimedia to a central server or share streams in real time. A network operation center can review the multimedia in real time or afterwards. Situational awareness is the provision of multimedia to a police officer as that officer approaches the location of an incident. The multimedia may be real time streams as the officer responds to a particular location, or the multimedia may be historical files as the officer familiarizes himself with incidents as he patrols a new neighborhood. Since the client device also reports real time reporting patterns, police officers can review high resolution and fidelity patrolling and incident reports to analyze the efficacy of patrol coverage. Since the client device may run supplementary applications, example applications are disclosed.
VIDEO TAGGING DEVICE AND VIDEO TAGGING METHOD
Provided is a video tagging device for tagging appended tags and/or comments to a video in time synchronization therewith while seeing a video recording subject of the video instead of watching video footage. The video tagging device 4 comprises: a video data acquisition module 411 to acquire video data 421 recorded by a first terminal device 2 from the first terminal device 2 and to acquire a video recording start time 422 at which recording of the video data 421 is started, and have the video data 421 and the video recording start time 422 stored in a storage device 42; a tag information acquisition module 412 to acquire tag information 423 having tags and/or comments from a second terminal device 3 when the tag information 423 is generated in the second terminal device 3, and to acquire a tag information generation time 424 at which the tag information 423 is generated; and an image processing module 413 to append the tag information 423 to the video data 421 at a timing synchronized with the tag information generation time 424 based on the video recording start time 422 stored in the storage device 42 and a lapse of time from which the video recording of the video data 421 is started.
