Protecting body for a flexible pouch, system for containing a biopharmaceutical fluid and methods for using such a system

The leak test for a flexible pouch specifically designed to contain a biopharmaceutical fluid includes the following steps: the flexible pouch is sandwiched between two plates which have an internal surface able to allow gas which escape from a hole on the flexible pouch flowing out of an external surface of the flexible pouch, a gas is introduced within the flexible pouch, and the pressure within the flexible pouch is measured.

A device for detecting and signalising a leakage in a double-walled conduit system of a heat exchanger for heating fresh water by way of heat from waste water in the sanitary field as well as a heat exchanger including such a device. The device has an elastic element and a signalisation unit, wherein the elastic element is essentially liquid-tight and the signalisation unit is configured to generate an acoustic signal and the signalisation unit is activatable by way of a mechanical deformation of the elastic element.

Detection of Leakage in Implants

An implant includes a hollow biocompatible shell, first and second electrodes, filling material, and circuitry. The hollow biocompatible shell is configured to be implanted in an organ of a patient. The first electrode is disposed inside the shell. The second electrode has at least one surface disposed outside the shell. The filling material, which includes carbon nanotubes (CNT), fills the shell and is configured, in response to a rupture occurring in the shell, to change a spatial orientation of the CNT and thus to cause a change in electrical conductivity of the filling material between the first electrode and the rupture. The circuitry is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes and is configured to detect the rupture by sensing the change in the electrical conductivity of the CNT, and to produce an output indicative of the detected rupture.

Device for detecting breakages in high-pressure processing bags

Device for detecting breakages in high-pressure processing bags, wherein an elongated electrode (1) partially extends through the inside of one of the plugs (5a, 5b) of the device in its proximal part and, in its distal part, extends into the bag (6) of the product to be processed, the electrode being electrically insulated by an insulator (2) along its entire length, except in the part that is located inside the bag (6) and which is in contact with the product, wherein the proximal part of the electrode (1), which extends out of the plug, is connected to a power source and a device for measuring the electrical current, the resistance or the capacitance of a circuit, wherein said device is electrically connected by closing the circuit between the electrode and the pressurization water if the bag breaks.

Systems and methods for detecting damage in a positive crankcase ventilation tube

A positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system for an engine includes: a PCV tube defining a flowpath extending along an axis; a damage detection circuit associated with the PCV tube. The PCV system also includes a damage detection module that selectively indicates that a fault is present in the PCV tube based on a change in a characteristic of the damage detection circuit and that illuminates a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) when the fault is present.

Device for detecting leaks in packages

A device for detecting leaks or weaknesses in a flexible package. The device includes a first member having a non-conductive surface, a second member secured in a position adjacent the first member, and a control system. The second member has an electrically conductive first portion and an electrically conductive second portion. The electrically conductive first portion of the second member is normally electrically insulated from the electrically conductive second portion of the second member. The control system is arranged to detect an electrical current between the electrically conductive first portion and the electrically conductive second portion. The second member may be positioned relative the first member to compress a flexible package between the first member and the second member.
