Spectrometry device and spectrometry method
A spectrometry device includes a controller that: causes first irradiated light and second irradiated light to be irradiated from a first light emitter and a second light emitter at mutually different timings; stores information relating to a first light reception signal and information relating to a second light reception signal in a storage at mutually different timings, in synchronization with irradiation timings of the first irradiation light and the second irradiation light; acquires information relating to a first optical spectrum based on the information relating to the first light reception signal stored in the storage during a first time period; and acquires information relating to a second optical spectrum based on the information relating to the second reception signal stored in the storage during a second time period.
ACTIVE REMOTE SENSING SYSTEM USING TIME-OF-FLIGHT SENSOR WITH APPLICATIONS TO CAMERAS AND VEHICLE OR AIRBORNE PLATFORMS
An active remote sensing system is provided with an array of laser diodes that generate light directed to an object having one or more optical wavelengths that include at least one near-infrared wavelength between 600 nanometers and 1000 nanometers. One of the laser diodes pulses at a modulation frequency between 10 Megahertz and 1 Gigahertz and has a phase associated with the modulation frequency. A detection system includes a photo-detector, a lens, a spectral filter at an input to the photo-detector, and a processor that processes digitized signals received from the photo-detector to generate an output signal. The detection system uses a lock-in technique that synchronizes pulsing the one laser diode. The active remote sensing system is configured to be mounted on a vehicle or an airborne platform to provide distance information based on a time-of-flight measurement.
SYNCHRONIZED DUAL MODE OCT SYSTEM
The present application in some embodiments relates to methods for reducing noise and/or clutter when measuring a spectrum, particularly but not only for OCT imaging. In some embodiments a light source is synchronized with a detector. For example a narrow band light source is synchronized with a narrow band detector. For example, the light source may scan over multiple frequency bands and/or the detector may be tuned to a frequency band synergetic to the band of the light source. For example the light source and detector may be tuned to overlapping narrow bands. Optionally the detector has a sensor set for each frequency band. Optionally some sensor sets are individually resettable. For example each set may have a reset circuit. For example, a sensor set for a band not currently being measured is deactivated.
A method of selectively catalytically oxidizing dinitrogen oxide, a method of detecting radiocarbon, an apparatus, and use of a NiO catalyst
A method of selectively catalytically oxidizing dinitrogen oxide present in a gaseous sample, comprising: heating a NiO catalyst to a temperature of at least 250° C.; and bringing the gaseous sample into contact with the heated NiO catalyst to oxidize dinitrogen oxide of the gaseous sample in the presence of the heated NiO catalyst.
On-board diesel emissions diagnostic and monitoring system
In an apparatus and system for monitoring and communicating emissions data for a diesel engine, an exhaust gas analyzer uses laser light passed through a diffuser to measure the quantity of trace gases and particulates in an exhaust gas outlet from a diesel engine. The analysis chamber possesses superhydrophobic, superhydrophilic, and/or superoleophobic properties to reduce VOC-occlusion of the transparent chamber walls. A radio transmitter, cellular data transmitter, or Smartphone transmits measurement data. In a diagnostic and monitoring system for a diesel engine, the exhaust gas analyzer is in contact with the exhaust gases from the diesel engine, preferably in the tailpipe. A data receiver receives the transmitted measurement data.
GAS ANALYSIS SYSTEM AND GAS ANALYSIS METHOD
A gas analysis system, includes: a light-emitting element that emits a laser light modulated by a predetermined modulation frequency; and a light-receiving element that: receives the laser light that has passed through a measurement target gas; and upon receiving the laser light, outputs a received signal having an N-frequency that is n times the predetermined modulation frequency, wherein n is an integer no less than 2; and a signal processing device that: calculates a third component by removing, from a first component having the N-frequency, a second component, wherein the second component is a component of optical interference noise arising on an optical path of the laser light from the light-emitting element to the light-receiving element and has the same frequency as the first component; and calculates, based on a magnitude of the third component, a concentration of the measurement target gas.
System and Method for Analyzing Dusty Industrial Off-gas Chemistry
An off-gas analyzer for analyzing H.sub.2O vapor, CO, O.sub.2, CO.sub.2 and/or H.sub.2 in a furnace gas stream is fluidically coupled to a gas extraction probe. The analyzer includes an optical measurement cell having multiple sampling chambers, optically coupled to a laser. The analyzer measuring cell is housed within a heated cabinet having a heater operable to heat the interior thereof so as to maintain the extracted gas sample therein at a temperature about the condensation point of water. The analyzer allows for the analysis of the gas water vapour of wet off-gas samples.
Motion modulation fluidic analyzer system
A fluid analyzer includes an optical source and detector defining a beam path of an optical beam, and a fluid flow cell on the beam path defining an interrogation region in a fluid channel in which the optical beam interacts with fluids. One or more flow-control devices conduct a particle in a fluid through the fluid channel. A motion system moves the interrogation region relative to the fluid channel in response to a motion signal, and a controller (1) generates the motion signal having a time-varying characteristic, (2) samples an output signal from the optical detector at respective intervals of the motion signal during which the interrogation region contains and does not contain the particle, and (3) determines from output signal samples a measurement value indicative of an optically measured characteristic of the particle.
Laser gas analyzer
A laser gas analyzer includes a light emitter which emits a laser light irradiated onto a gas to be measured; a light receiver which receives a laser light which transmitted the gas to be measured; a plurality of optical-axis adjustment mechanisms, one of which is provided in the light emitter and the other one of which is provided in the light receiver; a main display which is provided in one of the light emitter and the light receiver and displays thereon the measured result acquired by receiving the laser light which transmitted the gas to be measured; and a sub-display which is provided in the other one of the light emitter and the light receiver and displays thereon a part of the measured result displayed on the main display.
Attachment and alignment device for optical sources, detectors and analysers, and modular analysis system
A device is provided for combining two or more separate components of an optical analysis system, to use common entrance and exit apertures for optical measurements across a measurement space such as a stack, combustion chamber, duct or pipeline, in such way that the optical paths from the respective light sources to detectors are substantially the same, enabling multiple optical measurements over a single optical path or closely aligned optical paths with equivalent ambient conditions such as temperature and pressure distribution and background substance concentrations. The device and a set of interconnectable devices forming a modular system are useful, for example, in absorption spectroscopy, such as for measuring the amount fraction of the chemical constituents of a fluid in a measurement volume.
