Production-line-type High-throughput Screening System
The present invention provides a production-line-type high-throughput screening system, which relates to the field of biotechnology and testing equipment. The system comprises of four manipulators, three parallel conveyor belts with fixed slots, 2-DOF slipway and fixed fixtures, 96-channel pipetting system, coloring device, oscillating mixing device, microplate reader, well plates loading platform and well plates recycling platform. Manual operation takes five minutes to detect one 96-well plate, while this system can handle 20 96-well plates per minute. It expands the number of screening targets, making the screening process more clearly and concisely and liberating manual labor. The system makes effective contributions to the development of microbial breeding technology.
SAMPLE ANALYZER
A sample analyzer may include: a heating table including: holding holes in which reaction containers each housing a sample are held, respectively; and a heater that heats the reaction containers in the holding holes; a reagent dispensing unit that dispenses a reagent into the reaction containers heated on the heating table; a detection unit including: holders that hold the reaction containers each housing a measurement specimen, respectively; and detectors that detect analysis signals from the measurement specimens, respectively; a controller that analyzes each sample based on each analysis signal; a first transfer unit that transfers one of the reaction containers in the holding holes to one of the holders in a first region of the detection unit; and a second transfer unit that transfers one of the reaction containers in the holding holes to one of the holders in a second region of the detection unit.
Automated Positive Pressure Solid Phase Extraction Apparatus and Method Comprising a Reagent Dispenser Apparatus and Method
An automated positive pressure solid phase extraction apparatus and method comprising two tiered lifts devices each individually controllable to individually vertically translate within an elevator framework between a base on which the elevator framework is mounted and a manifold plate supported by the framework in a substantially horizontal plane parallel with and vertically above the two tiered lifts devices; a rectilinearly translating shuttle assembly comprising a shuttle supporting labware for rectilinear travel into and out of the elevator framework to handoff the labware to one of the two tiered elevator lifts or both; and a reagent dispensing system comprising a reagent dispensing manifold for dispensing liquids into wells of each column of wells of a labware filter plate carried by the shuttle.
Microplate reader
A microplate reader having a receiving apparatus for receiving a microplate having predefined dimensions and a multiplicity of wells, and an optical detector for detecting an optical radiation at respective individual ones of the wells of a microplate that in the receiving apparatus. The receiving apparatus is arranged to be movable in at least one spatial direction by a positioning mechanism to position the received microplate relative to the optical detector for successive measurements at different wells. The movable receiving apparatus has an interface device configured to provide an energy and/or data connection and/or a media supply connection and/or media disposal from the microplate reader to an accessory apparatus for additional functions. The interface device enables additional hardware provided as an accessory apparatus, which can be inserted into the receiving apparatus jointly with or instead of a microplate or some other sample container, to be supplied with energy and communication.
System and method for the automated preparation of biological samples
The present invention describes an automated platform for inoculating a variety of receptacles with biological samples for testing and analysis. The lab automation system includes a plurality of modules used to automate the inoculation of media for subsequent analysis. In this regard, the lab automation system has one module to enter specimen/order information and store an inventory of petri dishes. Another module is used to label the sample receptacles with a unique identifier that associates the receptacles with the sample. Yet another module includes a robot for retrieving sample and inoculating the receptacles. The sample inoculation module also includes an apparatus that will receive slides, inoculate those slides, and further process the slides for analysis. Finally, the lab automation system includes a module that streaks the culture media with the sample. Thus, the automated lab system described herein provides consistent samples with minimal input from a lab operator.
High throughput method and system for analyzing the effects of agents on planaria
A high throughput system and method for analyzing the effects of a plurality of agents on planaria is disclosed. Multiple test zones are provided, where each test zone contains at least a portion of one planarian. The planaria in each test zone are then exposed to at least one agent, the test zones are sealed, and at various times, the test zones are moved automatically between a storage location and at least one assay station. At each assay station, the test zones are exposed to a set of conditions, and an image or video of the planaria in the test zones are captured. Automated image or video analysis is used to are evaluate and determine whether the agent has an effect.
TOTAL LAB AUTOMATION SYSTEM
State-of-the-art analyzers in clinical laboratories require complex robotics, as well as daily human maintenance. In addition, a discrete analyzer is required for each analytic method, with two or more such analyzers containing expensive, redundant components. Accordingly, a total lab automation system is disclosed that is capable of combining the functions of all such analyzers using a compact superset of stations. In an embodiment, the system comprises a plurality of conveyors, arranged along an X-axis of a tabletop surface, and configured to move in both directions along a Y-axis, under the control of a controller. One or more stations may extend along the X-axis, to orthogonally span all of the conveyors, such that a tool of each station may move along the X-axis, and potentially along the Z-axis, to process items on the conveyors, under the control of the controller.
QUALITY MEASUREMENT APPARATUS
A quality measurement apparatus for measuring a quality of fruits and vegetables placed on a storage tray has a first conveying portion for conveying the storage tray, a first-surface measuring portion for measuring the fruits and vegetables in the storage tray from above in the first conveying portion, a tray inverting portion for performing an inverting operation for inverting the storage tray carried in from the first conveying portion in a vertical direction and carrying out the storage tray after the inverting operation, a second conveying portion for conveying the storage tray after the inverting operation, which was carried out from the tray inverting portion, a tray removing portion for removing the storage tray above the fruits and vegetables in the second conveying portion, and a second-surface measuring portion for measuring the fruits and vegetables from above in a state in which the storage tray above is removed in the second conveying portion.
