Connection System for Printed Circuit Board
A connection system for a printed circuit board employs either an inline or transverse board-mounted connector for holding board-mounted optical fibers. A plug-in connector can blind mate with the board-mounted connector. The plug-in connector has a plug-in connector body, a plug-in ferrule, and a plug-in ferrule holder. The plug-in holder latches with the plug-in connector body at either of two positions to selectively configure the plug-in connector for blind mating with either the inline or transverse board-mounted connector. The board-mounted fibers can be supported by a board-mounted ferrule assembly including a ferrule and a ferrule holder that is configured to selectively attach the board-mounted ferrule assembly to either of an inline board-mounted connector body and a transverse board-mounted connector body.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR WITH FIELD INSTALLABLE OUTER CONNECTOR HOUSING
An optical connector includes a first sub-assembly that is factory-installed to a first end of an optical fiber and a second sub-assembly that is field-installed to the first end of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and first sub-assembly can be routed through a structure (e.g., a building) prior to installation of the second sub-assembly. The second sub-assembly interlocks with the first sub-assembly to inhibit relative axial movement therebetween. Example first sub-assemblies include a ferrule, a hub, and a strain-relief sleeve that mount to an optical fiber. Example second sub-assemblies include a mounting block; and an outer connector housing forming a plug portion.
Light blocking shutter for optical fiber adapter
A fiber optic adapter is configured to mate with a fiber optic connector. The fiber optic connector has a connector body and a fiber containing ferrule protruding a distance from a forward end of the connector body. The fiber optical adapter includes a housing forming a passageway, a coupling sleeve forming a passageway, and a shutter mounted to the coupling sleeve. The coupling sleeve is configured to accept the connector therein during an insertion of the connector in a longitudinal direction into the passageway. The shutter includes abase portion connected to the coupling sleeve and a light blocking portion extending from the base and extending into the passageway in a first position, the light blocking portion having at least a section being curved from a first end thereof to a second end thereof along a length of the section.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS HAVING A KEYING STRUCTURE AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Fiber optic connectors, cable assemblies and methods for making the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the optical connector comprises a housing and a multifiber ferrule. The housing comprises a longitudinal passageway between a rear end and a front end, and a rear portion of the housing comprises a keying portion and at least one locking feature integrally formed in the rear portion of the housing.
COMPOSITE-TYPE OUTDOOR CONNECTOR
Disclosed is a composite-type outdoor connector, which includes a dustproof sleeve and a connecting sleeve, the dustproof sleeve includes a dustproof head sleeve and a connecting nut, the dustproof head sleeve and the connecting nut are screwed and fixed, and the connecting sleeve includes a connecting head sleeve and a connecting tail sleeve, a connecting component is provided in the middle of the connecting sleeve, the connecting component includes a protective sleeve, a connector, a fixing member, a stop ring and a ferrule, the beneficial effects of the present disclosure are that the optical fiber connection is more stable, the structure is more stable, and the cable is not easy to rotate and deviate, and different types of connectors can be connected by replacing different connecting head sleeves, thereby having better compatibility.
Optical connector ferrule, sleeve, and method for manufacturing ferrule member
An object is to provide an optical fiber connector ferrule, a sleeve, and a method for manufacturing a ferrule member that can avoid an increase in manufacturing time and an increase in cost of optical connectors for connecting multicore optical fibers. The present invention provides an optical fiber connector ferrule, a sleeve, and a method for manufacturing ferrule member which realizes alignment of multicore optical fibers corresponding to the connection by mounting a ferrule on a multicore fiber and then cutting a ferrule member instead of aligning core positions by rotating an axis of an optical fiber and adjusting positions of cores to the ferrule, leading to simplification of a rotational alignment step.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR AND ASSEMBLY THEREOF
A factory processed and assembled optical fiber arrangement is configured to pass through tight, tortuous spaces when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the optical fiber arrangement at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, tortuous spaces) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.
Reversible polarity MPO fiber optic connector
A multi-fiber, fiber optic connector is provided having a housing having a first end for receiving a multi-fiber fiber optic cable and a second end having openings for the fibers from the cable. First and second keys for setting the polarity of the fibers within the connector located on opposing sides of the connector. The connector has either one of guide pins or guide pin receiving holes for guiding the connection with a second connector. The keys are movable between a first active position and a second retracted position, such that when one of the keys is in the first active position, the fibers are presented within the connector in a first polarity and when the second key is in the first active position, the fibers are presented within the connector in a second polarity reversed from the first polarity.
