Fiber optic connector

A connector including two connector portions each including a ferrule and a latch, each latch including a distal end, and a proximal end, wherein the latch is pivotable about an intermediate connection portion; and a boot mounted to the connector portions, the boot movable longitudinally relative to the connector portions, wherein the boot causes the distal ends of the latch to pivot toward the ferrule of each connector portion as the boot is moved away from the connector portions. Front housings of the connector portions can each be rotated about the longitudinal axis of the ferrule without rotating the ferrule or the boot, to change the polarity of the two connector portions. The spacing between the two ferrules is adjustable. A holder holds the connector portions, the holder including side slots, the connector portions mounted to the holder by moving laterally to the side slots. The holder defines an area for receipt of a fiber optic cable when the ferrule is pushed in a direction toward the boot.

An octal small form factor pluggable (OSFP) and an assembly method thereof are provided. The OSFP includes a base, spacer and lid. The base includes four optical fiber ports located at four corners of an imaginary rectangle, respectively, a receiving portion and a holder. The optical fiber ports are disposed at a front end of the base. The receiving portion is near the optical fiber ports and has a receiving space. The holder is in the receiving space and near two lower ones of the optical fiber ports. Two terminal-shaped dent portions are disposed on the holder and near the two lower optical fiber ports. The spacer is disposed above the holder. Terminal-shaped recess portions are disposed on the spacer, with lower ones clamping terminals together with the dent portions, and upper ones lying near the two upper optical fiber ports. The lid covers the receiving portion.

OPTICAL FIBER SIGNAL TRANSMISSION JUMPER CONNECTOR STRUCTURE
20230075629 · 2023-03-09 ·

An optical fiber signal transmission jumper connector structure includes a connector body, a pair of fiber optic plugs and a sliding sleeve, for connecting a fiber optic socket to achieve signal connections. The fiber optic plugs are installed at the front end of the connector body; the sliding sleeve is slidably covered onto the connector body; the top side of the sliding sleeve has two buckle portions fixed to the fiber optic socket, and two snap holes are formed on a surface of the sliding sleeve and corresponding to two snap hooks of the connector body. The snap hooks can be pressed simultaneously to pull the connector body backward to separate from the sliding sleeve, and the pair of optical fiber plugs can be converted when the optical signal is transmitted while the connector is plugged in the fiber optic socket, so as to improve the convenience of on-site operations.

Ferrule sub-assembly for a fiber optic connector

A fiber optic ferrule sub-assembly for insertion into an outer housing of a fiber optic connector includes a ferrule assembly having a ferrule that forms an optical communication connection with another fiber optic device. A back housing includes a back post to be attached to a fiber optic cable. A spring is operatively disposed between the ferrule assembly and the back housing. A linkage connects the ferrule assembly to the back housing such that the spring is compressed and biases the ferrule away from the back housing prior to insertion of the fiber optic ferrule sub-assembly into the outer housing.

FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR AND ASSEMBLY THEREOF

A factory processed and assembled optical fiber arrangement is configured to pass through tight, tortuous spaces when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the optical fiber arrangement at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, tortuous spaces) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.

RETROFIT COVER FOR FIBER OPTIC CABLE CONNECTION

A cover for a fiber optic cable connection includes a cap portion having a first housing portion having a first housing wall and a second housing portion having a second housing wall. A union portion has a union wall defining a union opening and is configured to receive the first housing portion and the second housing portion to couple the first housing portion and the second housing portion in a closed position. The first housing wall and the second housing wall define a housing opening to receive a sealing assembly that has an inner surface and an outer surface. A sealing opening is configured to receive a fiber optic cable associated with the fiber optic cable connection. The outer surface is configured to contact at least one of the first housing wall, the second housing wall, or the union wall when the sealing assembly is received within the housing opening.
