Flexible Push-Pull Boot with a Transition Member
A flexible push-pull boot extends between a front end and a rear end, a rear portion has a spine and a plurality of ribs extending from the rear end toward the front end. There is also a middle portion from which a plurality of front extensions extend. At least one of the front extensions has an inwardly extending projection on an inside portion of the front extensions to retain a housing therebehind.
Optical fiber alignment device and method
A fiber optic alignment device includes a first and a second alignment block and a first and a second gel block. A fiber passage extends from a first end to a second end of the fiber optic alignment device. The fiber passage is adapted to receive a first optical fiber through the first end and a second optical fiber through the second end. An intermediate portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the first and the second ends. The intermediate portion is adapted to align the first and the second optical fibers between the first and the second alignment blocks. A first portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the first end and the intermediate portion of the fiber passage. The first portion extends between the first alignment block and the first gel block. A second portion of the fiber passage is positioned between the second end and the intermediate portion of the fiber passage. The second portion extends between the second alignment block and the second gel block. End portions of the first and the second optical fibers may be cleaned when slid between the alignment blocks and the gel blocks. The fiber passage may include an undulating portion.
Fiber optic connectors having a ferrule insertion stop
A ferrule-based fiber optic connectors having a connector assembly with a ferrule insertion stop for limiting the insertion of a ferrule into a ferrule sleeve are disclosed. In one embodiment, the fiber optic connector comprising a connector assembly, ferrule insertion stop, a connector sleeve assembly and a female coupling housing. The connector assembly comprises a ferrule and a resilient member for biasing the ferrule forward and the connector sleeve assembly comprises a housing and a ferrule sleeve, where the ferrule of the connector assembly is at least partially disposed in the ferrule sleeve when assembled. The ferrule insertion stop limits the depth that the ferrule may be inserted into the ferrule sleeve.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTOR AND ASSEMBLY THEREOF
A factory processed and assembled optical fiber arrangement is configured to pass through tight, tortuous spaces when routed to a demarcation point. A connector housing attaches to the optical fiber arrangement at the demarcation point (or after leaving the tight, tortuous spaces) to form a connectorized end of the optical fiber. A fiber tip is protected before leaving the factory until connection is desired.
OPTICAL CONNECTOR PLUG FOR OUTDOOR WATERPROOF ONSITE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An optical connector plug for outdoor waterproof onsite assembly. A frame having slits sheathes and is fixed to an optical cable when the optical cable is constructed on a site. The optical connector plug is waterproofed by a protective tube and an O-ring. The optical cable has a tip at one side which is attached to an assembly in a sealing or mechanical manner, and the frame sheathing an outer side of the optical cable has one side end to which an outer peripheral edge of the assembly is coupled, has the one or more slits which are cut from a middle to the other side end and are formed to be widened and narrowed in compliance with an outer diameter of the optical cable, and has a step on an outer peripheral edge at one side end to be held by an inner peripheral edge of a housing.
METHODS FOR FORMING CONNECTORIZED FIBER OPTIC CABLING
A connectorized fiber optic cabling assembly includes a loose tube fiber optic cable and a connector assembly. The cable has a termination end and includes an optical fiber bundle including a plurality of optical fibers, at least one strength member, and a jacket surrounding the optical fiber bundle and the strength member. The connector assembly includes a rigid portion and defines a fiber passage. The connector assembly is mounted on the termination end of the cable such that the optical fiber bundle extends through at least a portion of the fiber passage. The plurality of optical fibers undergo a transition from a ribbonized configuration to a loose, non-ribbonized configuration in the rigid portion of the connector assembly.
Fiber Optic Connector Push-Pull Boot with Self-Locking Boot Latch
A fiber optic connector includes a connector body, a release member attached to the connector body and having a boot latch opening at a rear end, a push-pull boot attached to the release member, and a boot latch attached to the push-pull boot and extending forward and away from the push-pull boot, the boot latch having a first and second side extension and a central head member connected to and at least partially disposed between the first and the second side extensions by at least one flexure member, the boot latch is permanently disposed within the release member after the boot latch is inserted into the boot latch opening as the central head member engages each of the first side extension and the second side extension preventing removal of the boot latch from the release member when push or pull forces are applied to the push-pull boot.
OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR
An optical fiber connector can terminate a plurality of optical fiber cables, each with a jacket encasing at least one optical fiber and a strength element. A connector housing has a back post. The optical fibers of the plurality of optical fiber cables extend into the connector housing through the back post. A single crimp ring crimps the strength members of the plurality of optical fiber cables onto the back post. In a method of terminating a plurality of optical fiber cables, the cables are inserted through a single crimp ring, optical fibers of each of the cables are terminated in a multifiber ferrule, the cables are loaded into a back body of a connector housing, and strength members of the cables are crimped onto a back post using a single crimp ring.
DETACHABLE CONNECTORS FOR HIGH FIBER COUNT APPLICATIONS
The present disclosure relates to a matched pair detachable connector for high fiber count applications where the configuration of the connector maintains optical fiber alignment and ferrule alignment during assembly of the connector.
