At least a part of the pad portion 2 is sewn on the back surface of the wig base 1 so as to be located on a nape hollow 9 (a hollowed portion from the occipital region to the nape) of the wearer's occipital region, and is brought into contact with the nape hollow 9.

To help improve the fit, a retaining strap is provided for each temporal region, as well as ergonomic contours along the band that conform to a person's ears. Within the foundation is an enclosed region, including head-receiving portion and voluminous hair-protecting portion. The latter portion ensures sufficient space to protect and maintain a person's natural hair and hairstyle. An internal netting helps to catch shedding hairs while a drawstring in the band allows for tightness to be adjusted.

When the strand is used, the filaments thereof may be bonded to one another through thermal surface-fusion using thermal properties of the filaments even without using a conventional water-soluble adhesive (binder), and thus a wet look wig washable with water even when worn by a user may be prepared by a simple and economical method.
