DIAGNOSTICS AND USE OF QUORUM SENSING MOLECULES IN MUSCLE WASTING
The present invention relates to diagnostic methods to assess the presence of quorum sensing molecules (QSM), preferably peptides (QSPs), that influence muscle wasting in humans. The present invention furthermore relates to the use of the knowledge obtained by the diagnostic method in order to influence muscle wasting diseases in animals and human, by for example providing bacteria that produce beneficial QSMs or non-harmful QSMs, providing antagonists for harmful QSMs and the like.
METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR MICROBIOME BASED AMELIORATION OF SKIN ASSOCIATED AUTOIMMUNE INFLAMMATORY DISEASES
Skin-associated autoimmune diseases are common these days. A method and composition for microbiome based amelioration of skin associated autoimmune inflammatory diseases has been provided. The composition is made of at least one or more of microbiome-associated compounds such as proteins, metabolites, antibiotics, probiotics, etc. The method provides a composition for an affected individual through application of these compositions aimed at improving the bioavailability of lipoic acid. It acts through modulation of the lipoic acid metabolic pathway to do the same. The suggested microbes and compounds can either be used as an effective probiotic supplement in increasing the microbial population involved in lipoic acid biosynthesis (only), or increasing the number of competitors of the microbes involved in escalation of lipoic acid salvage system, or through direct antibiotic or physical action against the latter.

BACTERIAL FORMULATION
Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to compositions of bacterial isolates with probiotic activity. Compositions and methods described herein may confer health benefits to subjects in need thereof. This may be accomplished by administering to the subject an effective amount of the microorganism isolates and may include also administering an effective amount of a prebiotic, stabilizer, antibacterial agent, antifungal agent, and/or media component. Probiotic compositions may also be in combination with a suitable delivery system, such as a food product or a beverage, a food or beverage compositions, a food or beverage supplement or adjuvant.

Microbiota restoration therapy (MRT), compositions and methods of manufacture
Microbiota restoration therapy compositions and methods for manufacturing, processing, and/or delivering microbiota restoration therapy compositions are disclosed. An example method for manufacturing a microbiota restoration therapy composition may include collecting a human fecal sample and adding a diluent to the human fecal sample to form a diluted sample. The diluent may include a cryoprotectant. The method may also include mixing the diluted sample with a mixing apparatus and filtering the diluted sample. Filtering may form a filtrate. The method may also include transferring the filtrate to a sample bag and sealing the sample bag.

Gene expression system for probiotic microorganisms
Provided herein are recombinant microorganisms that express a subject polypeptide. Microorganisms can comprise an expression construct comprising a flagellin promoter operatively linked with a heterologous nucleotide sequence encoding the subject polypeptide. The flagellin promoter sequence can comprise a genetic modification that reduces CsrA inhibition of translation. Microorganisms also can comprise a genetic modification that reduces FlgM inhibition of SigD initiation of transcription. The target polypeptide can be an aldehyde dehydrogenase. Such microorganisms are useful in the treatment of alcohol hangover.

Probiotic formulation for reducing stress, anxiety and depression
Stress is any demand placed on the brain or physical body, thereby leading to anxiety and depression and it is a common phenomenon experienced by humans and animals. Stress, anxiety and depression often leads to serious mental ill health. People with anxiety disorders respond to certain things or situations with fear and dread and display physical signs such as a pounding heart and sweating. Often, people lose their willpower, concentration and interest in day to day activities, are drained of energy and can even become devoid of any emotion.
It is documented that low activity of certain neurotransmitters can result in anxiety, chronic stress, depression, difficulty in concentrating, memory problems, muscle pain, headaches, insomnia and sleep problems. Therefore, if the level of these neurotransmitters is raised, the problem of stress, anxiety and depression can be cured. The invention describes a formulation to naturally increase the levels of certain neurotransmitters in the body, thereby reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
