TONER CONTAINER INFORMATION ACQUIRING METHOD, TONER CONTAINER SORTING METHOD, TONER CONTAINER PULVERIZING METHOD, TONER CONTAINER PROCESSING METHOD, AND TONER CONTAINER MANUFACTURING METHOD
A toner container information acquiring method includes: measuring a toner amount contained in a resin forming a toner container; and acquiring information regarding mechanical strength of the toner container based on the measured toner amount.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, REPLACEMENT DEVELOPING COMPONENT, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an accommodating portion, a motor, and a development sensor. In the accommodating portion, a replacement developing component is fitted. The replacement developing component is fitted with a rotary member including an operating member, and stores toner. The motor rotates the rotary member on the replacement developing component fitted in the accommodating portion. When a new replacement developing component is fitted, the development sensor is not in contact with the operating member before the motor rotates the rotary member and is in contact with the operating member on the rotary member that has moved as the motor rotates. The development sensor outputs a first level when in contact with the operating member and outputs a second level when not in contact with the operating member.
REPLACEABLE UNIT FOR AN ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGE FORMING DEVICE HAVING A MAGNETIC SENSOR
A replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device includes a housing having a reservoir for holding toner. An electrical connector is positioned on a first side of the housing. The electrical connector includes an electrical contact for contacting a corresponding electrical contact in the image forming device and a magnetic sensor electrically connected to the electrical contact. The electrical connector is movable between a first position and a second position. When the electrical connector moves from the first position to the second position, the electrical contact of the replaceable unit moves from a retracted position to an operative position. When the electrical connector moves from the first position to the second position, the magnetic sensor moves from a misaligned position to an aligned position with a point in a path of movement of a magnet for sensing a magnetic field of the magnet.
Image forming apparatus
According to one embodiment, the image forming apparatus includes a storage unit, an image forming unit, a first electrode, a second electrode, a to-be-detected unit, a moving unit, a measuring unit, and a processor. The storage unit stores a recording material. The image forming unit forms an image with the recording material supplied from the storage unit. The to-be-detected unit is in the storage unit and is movable so that at least one of the distance to the first electrode and the distance to the second electrode changes. The moving unit moves the to-be-detected unit in the storage unit. The measuring unit measures the capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The processor controls the image forming unit based on the abnormality detected based on the capacitance.
Image forming apparatus and storage device
According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a storage portion, a first electrode, a second electrode, a measuring unit, a detected portion, an image forming unit, and a controller. The storage portion stores a recording material. The measuring unit measures a change of capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The detected portion is located inside the storage portion and is capable of moving so that at least one of a distance to the first electrode and a distance to the second electrode changes. The image forming unit forms an image with the recording material. The controller controls supplying of the recording material to the storage portion in response to the change of the capacitance measured by the measuring unit.
Powder collection device and image forming apparatus incorporating same
A powder collection device includes a collection container configured to store powder collected and a powder amount detector including a pair of electrodes. The powder amount detector detects an amount of powder in the collection container based on capacitance between the pair of electrodes.
Image forming apparatus and toner cartridge
The image forming apparatus includes a developing device, a toner container, a first mechanism, a toner sensor, and a controller. The developing device adheres toner to an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductor to form a toner image. The toner container supplies toner to the developing device. The first mechanism causes a toner interface to undulate in the toner container. The toner sensor detects a capacitance between a first electrode and a second electrode arranged apart from the first electrode. The controller determines a remaining amount of toner in the toner container based on detection information from the toner sensor.
DEVELOPMENT DEVICE, PROCESS CARTRIDGE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
There are demands for stable connections of contact points between a process cartridge, including a development device, and an image forming device. A development contact point, a first contact point, and a second contact point are disposed in this order on the inside in a perpendicular direction with respect to an insertion direction in which a development device is inserted into an image forming apparatus.
Amount-of-remaining-toner detecting device, image forming apparatus, method for detecting amount of remaining toner, and non-transitory recording medium
An amount-of-remaining-toner detecting device includes: a toner housing portion in which a toner bottle is housed, the toner bottle having a bottle body that is cylindrical and in which toner is housed, and a cap that is attached to one end of the bottle body in an axial direction of the bottle body and from which the toner housed in the bottle body is discharged; and circuitry configured to detect an amount of remaining toner in the toner bottle housed in the toner housing portion. The toner housing portion includes a first pair of electrodes facing each other with the bottle body interposed between the first pair of electrodes, and a second pair of electrodes facing each other with the bottle body interposed between the second pair of electrodes, at respective positions closer to the cap than the first pair of electrodes are. The circuitry detects the amount of remaining toner in the bottle body, based on at least one of a capacitance value between the first pair of electrodes or a capacitance value between the second pair of electrodes.
Image forming device and controlling method
An image forming device may comprise: an attaching unit to which a removable toner bottle is attached; a toner storage that stores toner supplied from the toner bottle attached to the attaching unit; a detector that detects an empty state of toner in the toner storage; and a hardware processor that: supplies toner to the toner storage from the toner bottle when the toner bottle attached to the attaching unit is new; and switches a state of the toner bottle to an old state from a new state if the empty state detected by the detector is released.
