An image forming apparatus according to one embodiment includes a transport unit, an image forming unit, a heating member, a first pressurizing member, a second pressurizing member, and a processor. The transport unit is configured to transport a print medium. The image forming unit is configured to form a toner image on the print medium by a first toner. The first pressurizing member is configured to form a fixing nip for fixing with the heating member. The second pressurizing member is configured to form a decolorizing nip for decolorizing with the heating member. The processor is configured to control the heating member to the first temperature, allows the print medium on which the toner image is formed by the first toner to pass through the fixing nip, and allows the print medium on which an image is formed by a second toner, to pass through the decolorizing nip.

The controller moves the sheet, in the image formation process on the first surface, by the predetermined value in the width direction and moves the sheet, in the image formation process on the second surface, in the width direction based on detected positions in a case where the difference between the standard position and the first position in the width direction is larger than the predetermined value.

A printing apparatus includes a tray on which a first medium, a decoration to decorate the first medium, and a second medium placed on the first medium and the second decoration are placed, a heating section, an image forming device and a processor, the first medium or the second medium containing an adhesive. A toner image is formed on at least one of the first medium or the second medium. The processor is configured to heat the heating section to a first temperature to bond to each other the first medium, the decoration and the second medium in such a manner that the decoration is sandwiched between the first medium and the second medium, and to heat the heating section to a second temperature lower than the first temperature to fix the toner image on at least one of the first medium or the second medium bonded to each other.

The print control unit adjusts the length of the image forming period in accordance with the adjusted image forming time determined based on the difference obtained by the arithmetic unit and the reference image forming time.
