A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an image forming apparatus, the process cartridge includes a photosensitive drum unit including a photosensitive drum, and a first and second positioning portions Configured to position the photosensitive drum unit relative to the main assembly; and a developing unit connected with the photosensitive drum unit, the developing unit including a developing roller, a storing means having a contact surface electrically connectable with a main assembly contact of the main assembly to communicate with the main assembly. As seen in an axial direction of the photosensitive drum, a first line segment connecting the first positioning portion and the second positioning portion with each other and a first linear line passing through the contact surface and perpendicular to the contact surface crosses with each other.
Drum cartridge including movable electrical contact surface, and image-forming apparatus using the same
A drum cartridge includes: a photosensitive drum rotatable about an axis extending in a first direction; a first drum frame to which a developing cartridge is attachable; and a second drum frame having an outer surface; and a memory having an electrical contact surface. The first drum frame is at one end portion of the drum cartridge in a second direction and the second drum frame is at another end portion of the drum cartridge in the second direction. The electrical contact surface is positioned at the outer surface of the second drum frame and is movable in a predetermined direction relative to the second drum frame.
Method for removing and attaching first holder member relative to second holder member supported by housing in cartridge
Provided is a method for removing a first holder member from a second holder member in a cartridge. The cartridge includes: a housing; the first holder member holding an electrical contact surface; and the second holder member supported by the housing. The first holder member includes a pawl, and the second holder member includes a corner part engageable with the pawl of the first holder member. The electrical contact surface is held at one end surface of the first holder member in a first direction crossing the electrical contact surface. The method includes: disengaging the pawl from the corner part; and separating the housing and the second holder member from the first holder member in the first direction away from the one end surface of the first holder member.
DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE
Disclosed herein is a developing cartridge. The developing cartridge has a housing, a developing roller rotatably supported by the housing, the developing roller being rotatable about an axis extending in a first direction, and the developing roller having a developing roller shaft, a supply roller rotatably supported by the housing and configured to convey developer to the developing roller, the supply roller having a supply roller shaft, and a driving gear disposed on a driving side of the housing in the first direction. The developing cartridge also has electrical connection components on the housing. In the first direction, the ends of the supply roller shaft are in contact respectively with the electrical connection components.
DEVELOPING CARTRIDGE INCLUDING MOVABLE PLATE FOR MOVING HOLDER HOLDING ELECTRICAL CONTACT SURFACE
A developing cartridge includes a casing, a developing roller rotatable about an axis extending in a first direction, a developing memory having an electrical contact surface, an agitator, an agitator gear rotatable about an agitator axis together with the agitator, a holder holding the electrical contact surface, and a plate movable between a first position and a second position in a second direction crossing the first direction relative to the casing. The holder is movable relative to the casing in a third direction crossing the first and second directions between a retracted position and an advancing position. The holder is movable from the retracted position to the advancing position in response to a movement of the plate from the first position to the second position. The plate is positioned farther away from the developing roller than the agitator gear and the holder are in the second direction.
PROCESS CARTRIDGE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A process cartridge includes a first unit including an image bearing member configured to carry an electrostatic latent image, and a second unit including a developer bearing member configured to develop the electrostatic latent image carried on the image bearing member into a toner image, the second unit being capable of being mounted on the first unit in a mounting direction. The first unit includes a moving member that moves the second unit mounted on the first unit at a mounting position to a detachment position. The second unit includes a storage unit that stores information about the second unit The moving member is disposed on a first side of the process cartridge in a longitudinal direction of the image bearing member. An electrode of the storage unit is disposed on a second side of the process cartridge in the longitudinal direction.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS CAPABLE OF MAKING TONER CARTRIDGE COMPLETELY ATTACHED TO DRUM CARTRIDGE DURING ATTACHMENT OF DRUM CARTRIDGE TO HOUSING
An image forming apparatus includes: a housing; drum cartridge attachable to the housing; a toner cartridge attachable to the drum cartridge at an attachment position; and a contacting portion positioned at a side wall of the housing positioned at one end thereof in a first direction. The drum cartridge includes a photosensitive drum and a drum frame. The toner cartridge includes a toner casing, a toner memory, a memory holder holding the toner memory, and a memory holder cover movably holding the memory holder. The memory holder cover has a protrusion protruding in a direction crossing the first direction. In a case where the drum cartridge is to be attached to the housing while the toner cartridge is lifted up from the drum frame than the attachment position, the protrusion is configured to contact the contacting portion to move the toner cartridge to the attachment position from the lifted-up position.
TONER CARTRIDGE INCLUDING MEMORY HOLDER COVER HAVING PAWL ENGAGED WITH HOOK OF GEAR COVER
A toner cartridge includes: a toner casing configured to accommodate toner therein; a toner memory; a memory holder holding the toner memory; a memory holder cover; a gear positioned at an outer surface of the toner casing; and a gear cover. The memory holder cover movably holds the memory holder. The memory holder cover has a pawl. The gear cover is positioned at one end portion of the toner casing at one side in a first direction. The gear cover covers at least a part of the gear and has a hook in which the pawl is inserted.
Drum cartridge including electrical contact surface positioned at outer surface of drum frame
A drum cartridge includes: a drum frame to which a developing cartridge is attachable; a photosensitive drum; and a first storage medium. The drum frame has one end portion and another end portion spaced apart from the one end portion in a first direction.
