A method and an apparatus for providing a safe operation of a technical system including a plurality of system components. The method includes the steps of: a) providing a safety analysis model matured by knowledge about former implementations of the respective system components in different context, b) whereby system components' dependencies are modeled by connecting inports with outports of the respective system components and/or vice versa, c) whereby at least one or a plurality of such in and/or outports are associated with input failure modes and/or output failure modes, d) characterized in automatically uncovering inconsistencies caused by at least one system component to be integrated in connection with at least another system component whereby the input and/or output failure mode of the system component carries the knowledge from another implementation into the context.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATIC FEEDBACK CONTROL IN A DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEM

Systems and methods for automatic feedback control are provided. According to one embodiment of the disclosure, a method for automatic feedback control may commence with receiving high-level control references by a low-level controller communicatively coupled to a high-level controller via the network connection. The method may further include generating, by the low-level controller, low-level control references for a hardware asset based at least in part on the high-level control references. The method may continue with transferring control of the hardware asset to the low-level controller in response to a loss of the network connection. The method may further include adjusting the low-level control references by a low-level control mechanism associated with the low-level controller in response to the loss of the network connection.

Simulation based fault diagnosis using extended heat flow models

In order to reduce computation time and cost involved with detecting and diagnosing a fault in a system, simplified representations of components of the system are used to estimate valid intervals for state variables at the components. Generic failure rules are configured to compare the estimated valid intervals to related intervals for the same state variables, from either observations or propagations, for overlap. Failure output vectors are generated based on the comparison, and the failure output vectors are compared to diagnostic matrices to determine a source of the fault.

The present disclosure provides for predictive part maintenance by generating a reliability curve for an aircraft based on historic removals; setting a removal threshold on the reliability curve; tracking an installation of a given instance of the aircraft part into a given aircraft; tracking a number of cycles of the given instance of the aircraft part based on operations of the given aircraft in which the given instance of the aircraft part is installed; and in response to the number of cycles of the given instance of the aircraft part satisfying the removal threshold, transmitting a service alert to an operator of the given aircraft.

METHOD AND SYSTEM TO MODEL INDUSTRIAL ASSETS USING HETEROGENOUS DATA SOURCES

According to some embodiments, a system and method are provided to model a sparse data asset. The system comprises a processor and a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that when executed by the processor perform a method to model a sparse data asset. Relevant data and operational data associated with the newly operational are received. A transfer model based on the relevant data and the received operational data. An input into the transfer model is received and a predication based on data associated with the received operational data and the relevant data is output.

OPTIMIZATION OF VIRTUAL SENSING IN A MULTI-DEVICE ENVIRONMENT
20190101911 · 2019-04-04 ·

A computer-implemented method producing an inductive virtual sensor model of a target device within an ecosystem of devices includes a computing system identifying a first subset of devices in the ecosystem of devices. Each device in the first subset comprises a target sensor and additional sensors. The computing system collects target sensor data from the target sensor of each device in the first subset of devices, and additional sensor data from the additional sensors of each device in the first subset. A predictive model is trained to predict the target sensor data based on the additional sensor data. The computing system identifies a second subset of devices in the ecosystem of devices lacking the target sensor. Each device in the second subset of devices comprises the plurality of additional sensors. The computing system distributes the predictive model to each device in the second subset of devices.
