A method and system for rendering rectangle drawing objects using a clip region are provided. For at least a first rectangle drawing object and a second rectangle drawing object, a determination is made if the first rectangle drawing object and the second rectangle drawing object satisfy a predetermined condition. If the predetermined condition is satisfied, one-line raster image data associated with the first and second rectangle drawing objects is generated, and a clip region corresponding to the first and second rectangle drawing objects is generated. Subsequently, the one-line raster image data may be used together with the clip region to fill a clipped drawing region corresponding to the first and second rectangle drawing objects.

An information processing device comprising circuitry configured to: acquire identification information for identifying a model; acquire attribute information indicating an attribute of each of a plurality of programs applicable to the model, based on the identification information; and select a program to be installed from the plurality of programs, based on a priority order that is determined in advance for the attribute information.

The printing apparatus of the present invention includes: a memory storing a program; at least one processor configured to execute the program and function as: an interpretation unit configured to interpret print data of the page to obtain objects contained in the page; an optimization prediction unit configured to check each of the obtained objects to identify the at least one object to be subject to the predetermined conversion process, and to predict, in accordance with the identified object, characteristics of the new objects which are to be obtained by the predetermined conversion process without performing the predetermined conversion process; and an estimation unit configured to estimate a time required for the rendering process of the page, based on at least parameter values corresponding to the predicted characteristics.

A reusable sequence of display list objects is determined, by extending the repeated sequence to further consecutive display list objects, each occurrence of the reusable sequence being associated with a z-order position in a corresponding display list. At least one display list is divided, at the z-order position of the reusable sequence in the display list, into a plurality of z-bands including a reusable z-band for the determined reusable sequence. A reusable intermediate graphical representation is generated for the determined reusable sequence and a further intermediate graphical representation for at least one other z-band. The further intermediate graphical representation is merged with the reusable intermediate graphical representation in accordance with an order of the z-bands. The page description language (PDL) document is rendered using the merged representations.

A data processing apparatus includes a processing unit configured to perform a process on print data or setting data of the print data by a processing method targeting print data of a specific description format; a receiving unit configured to receive print data and setting data of the print data of a description format selected by a user; a determination data obtaining unit configured to obtain determination data that indicates whether a printer driver used for inputting the received print data and the setting data is a target printer driver for the process performed by the processing unit; and a process control unit configured to determine whether to perform the process by the processing unit on the received print data or the setting data based on the obtained determination data, and control the processing by the processing unit.

A print management server provided outside a predetermined LAN includes a receiver, a processor, and a transmitter. The receiver receives a print output instruction from a communication terminal of a user, the print output instruction being issued to a print output device provided inside the predetermined LAN and being an instruction to print out a print target file. The processor determines whether the print target file is present inside the predetermined LAN. When it is determined that the print target file is present inside the predetermined LAN, the transmitter transmits a generation command to a communication relay device inside the predetermined LAN, the generation command being a command to generate print job data on the basis of the print target file acquired by the communication relay device and a print setting instruction.

An information processing apparatus generates drawing data by using printing data and setting information about printing. The information processing apparatus includes a conversion unit that converts the setting information about printing into setting information for the apparatus; a plurality of drawing data generating units that generates the drawing data based on the printing data and the setting information for the apparatus; and a generating unit controller that analyzes the setting information for the apparatus to select one of the drawing data generating units and controls the selected drawing data generating unit in a control procedure corresponding to the selected drawing data generating unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a job control unit configured to, in response to, during a period in which an output processing unit is performing printing of image data for a first print job, a reception unit receiving a second print job higher in degree of priority than the first print job, cause an input processing unit to interrupt acquisition of data for each page about the first print job.

An information processing apparatus includes one or more processors configured to perform operations including receiving information indicating a predetermined object from an image forming apparatus, determining whether the object indicated by the information is included in image data for which a printing instruction has been issued by a user, designating a format of the image data, to be transmitted to the image forming apparatus, based on a result of the determining, converting the image data into the designated format, and transmitting the converted image data to the image forming apparatus.

Systems and methods are provided for handling print jobs. One embodiment is a system that includes a print server that serves a print shop having printers which exhibit different capabilities. The print server includes an interface that receives print jobs that each include content in the form of a Job Definition Format (JDF) job ticket and Portable Document Format (PDF) print data, a memory that stores the print jobs, and a controller. The controller schedules the print jobs for printing at the printers, and converts content of at least one of the print jobs to a different implementation, such that print jobs scheduled for printing at different printers include different implementations of content, based on the capabilities of the printer that they are scheduled for printing at.
