A cloud-based server and a port monitor on a device provide authentication of a user to access print jobs on the server. An application may print or perform other operations from the cloud-based server to a printing device. The port monitor uploads data for a document to the cloud-based server. Once the data for the document is uploaded, a claim code is generated by the cloud-based server. The port monitor receives the claim code. The port monitor initiates the launch of a browser having a uniform resource locator (URL) address for the server along with the claim code. The user is authenticated using a login page and the claim code associated to the user to allow access to the document on the server.

First and second printing apparatus are in an intranet and a bibliography server connected to the Internet. The bibliography server being configured to manage bibliographic information of print data. The first printing apparatus acquire a list of print data from the bibliography server, when an instruction to print out print data included in the list is received from a user with an operating unit of the first printing apparatus, sends identification information for identifying the print data to the second printing apparatus and when a print request is received, prints out print data included in the received print request. The second printing apparatus sends bibliographic information of print data received from an external apparatus to the bibliography server; and sends a print request containing the print data identified by the identification information to the first printing apparatus.

A policy-based printing system is implemented to allow access to a private domain to print using a public domain. The private domain includes private servers that store documents. The public domain includes servers and a printing device. A public policy server uses a domain list and a protocol connection with a private authentication server to validate a user and identify which private domain to access. The public policy server retrieves a policy from a private policy server that configures the parameters for printing using the public domain. The print job data is provided to a public file server until the public policy server confirms that the print job can be sent to the printing device.

An advertisement system includes a distribution member computer that causes a printer to print the test image data received from a posting server and transmits read data obtained by reading an image of a printed matter obtained by printing test image data by the printer to a posting server, and the posting server including an evaluation unit that evaluates printing quality of the printed matter based on the read data and a decision unit that determines whether to distribute the advertisement data to the distribution member computer based on an evaluation result by the evaluation unit.

A posting server includes a server communication unit, and a server controller that transmits advertisement data and a plurality of pieces of ID information to the distribution member device. The distribution member device includes a wireless communication unit, and a device controller that selects one piece of the ID information from the plurality of pieces of ID information received, outputs the selected ID information and the received advertisement data to the printer, and causes the printer to generate an advertising material on which the selected ID information and advertisement data are printed. The pieces of ID information having different values are printed on the advertising material.

An embodiment may involve receiving input information related to an offered product or service, two or more layouts of a print advertisement for the offered product or service, demographics of potential buyers of the offered product or service, and online behavior of the potential buyers. The information may be normalized into a predefined schema for a machine-learning-based recommendation engine operated by a computing device. The embodiment may further involve determining respective selections of the two or more layouts for the potential buyers. The machine-learning-based recommendation engine may select a layout for a potential buyer based on the offered product or service, content and organization of the layout, demographics of the potential buyer, and online behavior of the potential buyer. The embodiment may also involve transmitting, to a printing system, one or more output files representing the offered product or service, the layout, and the potential buyer.

An imaging method, an imaging device and an imaging system are provided. The imaging method includes: when receiving a terminal identification sent by a mobile terminal and directed to the mobile terminal, sending, by an imaging device, an imaging request message to a cloud server. The imaging request message includes the terminal identification and a communication parameter for communicating with the mobile terminal, used for the cloud server to verify identity of the mobile terminal according to the terminal identification and, after the identity verification is successfully passed and according to the communication parameter, to determine one imaging device, among all imaging devices that send imaging request messages, to perform an imaging task, and to send an imaging job to the one imaging device: and when receiving the imaging job sent by the cloud server, performing, by the imaging device, the imaging task according to the imaging job.

In a communication system, an information processing apparatus including a first controller and a memory and a mediation apparatus including a second controller can communicate with each other via a firewall. The mediation apparatus can communicate with a device via a local network. Based on an acquired plurality of instruction information, the first controller generates first commands. When a setup is performed by the mediation apparatus, the first controller transmits the generated first commands to the mediation apparatus, and receives a response thereto. One of the first controller and the second controller sets a transmission order for the second commands by setting a priority for each second command A second command having higher priority is transmitted prior to another second command having lower priority.

A printing apparatus receives a print job including print data held in a storage, performs processing of rendering of the print data, and generates, after a print instruction for the print job is input, print data to be printed based on the rendered print data. In a case in which print settings for the print job change from first print settings to second print settings, while the print job is held, first rendered print data and second rendered print data are generated based on the print data. The first rendered print data is not used for generating the print data to be printed, and the second rendered print data is used for generating the print data to be printed. In addition, the first rendered print data is generated in accordance with the first print settings, and the second rendered print data is generated in accordance with the second print settings.
