Printer provided with mode in which print based on print job transmitted from client device is restricted
A printer includes a controller, a memory, and a user interface. The printer has a first mode and a second mode. The controller disables the first mode when enabling the second mode and disables the second mode when enabling the first mode. The controller executes a first printing process while the first mode is enabled. In the first printing process, the controller receives a print job from a client device, stores the received print job in the memory, and performs printing based on the stored print job upon receiving a storage print command. The controller executes a second printing process and restricts the first printing process while the second mode is enabled. In the second printing process, the controller receives a print job from a server in response to receiving a prescribed input operation via the user interface, and performs printing based on the received print job from the server.
Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and non-transitory computer readable medium that simplify operation for serial execution of multiple types of processes
An information processing apparatus includes: a processor configured to: in response to acquiring a first identification output from a different information processing apparatus, perform control of execution of a first process; in response to completion of the first process, perform control to cause the different information processing apparatus to output a second identification for executing a second process; and in response to acquiring the second identification output from the different information processing apparatus, perform control of execution of the second process.
Method for generating document with specialty imaging and computing device associated therewith
A method for generating a document with specialty imaging includes: receiving a document with three pages, including a content page, a mask page with a background color and a foreground color, and an effect page with special imaging effect(s); processing the mask and effect pages by hiding a portion of the effect page overlapped by the background color to form a transformed effect page with a remaining portion, wherein the foreground color at least partially unhides the remaining portion such that the transformed effect page includes at least one specialty imaging effect; and processing the transformed effect and content pages by overlaying the transformed effect page on the content page to generate a transformed content page that forms a transformed document with specialty imaging. A computing device for implementing the method is also provided. A non-transitory computer-readable medium associated with the method is provided.
Method and apparatus generate display mirror image of user interface and to print documents in a third-party application from a multi-function device
A method is disclosed. For example, the method includes executing an application associated with a third-party application being executed on a mobile device, displaying a computer-readable code on a user interface shown on a display of a multi-function device (MFD), wherein the computer-readable code is to be scanned by the mobile device and provide connection information to the mobile device, receiving a connection request from the mobile device with the connection information contained in the computer-readable code scanned by the mobile device, establishing a connection to the mobile device, receiving third-party application information from the third-party application being executed on the mobile device, displaying the third-party application information on the user interface of the MFD, wherein the third-party application information includes a document, receiving a selection of the document to be printed from the third-party application information displayed on the user interface of the MFD, and printing the document.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND STORAGE MEDIA FOR CHARACTERIZING PRINT VOLUME INFORMATION FOR A PRINTING ASSET
Methods, systems, and storage media for characterizing print volume information for a printing asset are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: query a first computer-readable medium having stored thereon a first print volume data; query a second computer-readable medium having stored thereon a second print volume data; perform a statistical analysis based at least on the first and second print volume data to generate a print volume statistic; code a print volume classification for storage on a data storage device; and store the print volume classification on the data storage device such that the print volume classification is accessible via a structured query.
Document operation performance
Examples dis closed herein relate to receiving a first request to begin a first operation on a physical document, receiving a second request to begin a second operation, determining whether the first operation has completed, and in response to determining that the first operation has not completed, delay performance of the second operation.
Information processing system that displays custom operation screen on information processing apparatus that is different from and does not communicate with information processing apparatus performing customization, and non-transitory computer readable medium
An information processing system includes a first information processing apparatus including a generating unit that generates personal setting information that is used to set an operation screen on a per user basis, and a transmitting unit that transmits the personal setting information generated by the generating unit to an external apparatus, and a portable terminal apparatus including a memory that saves the personal setting information transmitted by the first information processing apparatus, and a transmitting unit that, when the portable terminal apparatus is linked to a second information processing apparatus different from the first information processing apparatus having generated the personal setting information, transmits the personal setting information saved on the memory to the second information processing apparatus.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus, having a reader device, a communication interface, a user interface, and a controller is provided. The controller is configured to receive a job, including information indicating a destination of image data, from an information processing apparatus using one of a specific protocol and a protocol other than the specific protocol, in a case where the job is received by use of the protocol other than the specific protocol, cause the reader device to start reading the image, and in another case where the job is received by use of the specific protocol, record the information included in the job, and after recording the information, in response to receiving of an execution command, cause the reader device to start reading the image, obtain the destination of the image data from the recorded information, and transmit the image data for the image to the obtained destination.
PRINTING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM
A printing method includes a customizing step of receiving a customization instruction of an administrator and customizing a printing screen, a printing step of performing printing in response to reception of a printing start instruction, a first displaying step of displaying the customized printing screen during the printing step, and a customized information processing step of enabling customized information corresponding to the customized printing screen to be confirmed after printing, when an execution instruction by a user is received during displaying the customized printing screen.
