Intelligent and automatic load balancing of workloads on replication appliances based on appliance load scores
Various systems and methods are provided in which a replication process is initiated between a primary site and a recovery site, each having plurality of gateway appliances. Replication loads are evaluated for each given gateway appliance of the plurality of gateway appliances. If a determination is made that at least one gateway appliance of the plurality of gateway appliances is not overloaded, the plurality of gateway appliances are sorted based on replication loads respectively associated with each gateway appliance, and a determination is made as to whether a relative difference in replication loads between a gateway appliance having a highest replication load and a gateway appliance having a lowest replication load exceeds a difference threshold to determine whether the replication workloads between the gateway appliances should be rebalanced.
PARALLELIZATION OF ELECTRONIC DISCOVERY DOCUMENT INDEXING
A system and method for parallelizing document indexing in a data processing system. The data processing system includes a primary processor for receiving a list of data having embedded data associated therewith, at least one secondary processor to process the data as provided by the primary processor, a data processor to determine a characteristic of the embedded data and process the embedded data based upon the characteristic, and a messaging module to exchange at least one status message between the primary processor and the at least one secondary processor.
LOAD DISTRIBUTION APPARATUS, LOAD DISTRIBUTION METHOD AND PROGRAM
A load distribution apparatus connected, via a network, to a plurality of relay apparatuses that relay communication performed by a terminal, and to the terminal, including: storage means configured to store relay apparatus identifiers that identify each of the plurality of relay apparatuses, installation site information that indicates installation sites of each of the plurality of relay apparatuses, and load information that indicates loads of each of the plurality of relay apparatuses; load management means configured to collect the load information from each of the plurality of relay apparatuses to store the load information in the storage means; selection means configured, when receiving a request from the terminal, to select a relay apparatus for relaying communication performed by the terminal from among the plurality of relay apparatuses based on the installation site information or the load information; and transmission means configured to transmit, to the terminal that transmits the request, a relay apparatus identifier of the relay apparatus selected by the selection means.
CENTRALIZED LOAD BALANCER WITH WEIGHTED HASH FUNCTION
A method, apparatus, and machine readable storage medium is disclosed for balancing loads among a plurality of virtual machines (VMs) from a central dispatcher, wherein the dispatcher receives data packets and maps the data packets to VMs selected from the plurality of VMs, using a weighted hash function, having an associated weighting for each VM and forwarding each packet to a VM accordingly, wherein a load balancer decrements a weighting for a VM, responsive to an indication of the load on the VM exceeding a first load threshold. Weightings can correspond to a number of bins associated with each VM. Weightings are adjusted in response to receiving invite and disinvite messages from the VMs, representing their respective loads.
Dynamic Deactivation of Cold Database in Database Service
Managing databases implemented in a cloud computing environment. A method includes detecting that a database implemented in the cloud computing environment is in a state of non-use. The method further includes as a result of detecting that a database implemented in the cloud computing environment is in a state of non-use, instantiating a workload in the cloud computing environment to deactivate the database. The workload is configured to store metadata for the database and database data remotely in cloud storage such that the database can be reactivated at a later time.
REAL-TIME APPLICATION BEHAVIOR CHANGES
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for adjusting a behavior of an application in real-time. Telemetry for a client computing device, a server computing device, and a network associated with the application may be received. It may be determined, while the application is running in real-time, whether to adjust the behavior of the application using the received telemetry. In response to determining to adjust the behavior of the application, the behavior of the application may be adjusted based on the received telemetry while the application is running in real-time.
Methods and apparatus to execute a workload in an edge environment
Methods and apparatus to execute a workload in an edge environment are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a node scheduler to accept a task from a workload scheduler, the task including a description of a workload and tokens, a workload executor to execute the workload, the node scheduler to access a result of execution of the workload and provide the result to the workload scheduler, and a controller to access the tokens and distribute at least one of the tokens to at least one provider, the provider to provide a resource to the apparatus to execute the workload.
Work conserving, load balancing, and scheduling
A system and method are described for work conserving, load balancing, and scheduling by a network processor. For example, one embodiment of a system includes a plurality of processing cores, including a scheduling circuit, at least one source processing core that generates at least one task and at least one destination processing core that receives and processes the at least one task, and generates a response. The scheduling circuit of the exemplary system receives the at least one task and conducts a load balancing to select the at least one destination processing core. In an embodiment, the scheduling circuit further detects a critical sequences of tasks, schedules those tasks to be processed by a single destination processing core, and, upon completion of the critical sequence, conducts another load balancing to potentially select a different processing core to process more tasks.
Method, apparatus, electronic device and readable storage medium for adjusting instance number
A method, an apparatus, an electronic device and a computer readable storage medium for adjusting an instance number are provided. The method includes: acquiring an actual performance index of a current time window; determining a theoretical instance number corresponding to the actual performance index; and in response to the theoretical instance number being greater than an instance creating upper limit of a current edge computing node, requesting another edge computing node having an instance addition capability to jointly create an instance of a total number equal to the theoretical instance number.
REQUEST SCHEDULING
A method for end-to-end request scheduling for a distributed system comprising a plurality of hosts via which one or more requests are transmitted. The method comprises: receiving the one or more requests; assigning global scheduling information to each of the one or more requests; transmitting, for each of the one or more requests, respectively assigned global scheduling information with the request, such that respective global scheduling information is made available to a local scheduling unit corresponding to a host via which each of the plurality of requests is transmitted; and determining, for each of one or more one or more requests received at each of the plurality of hosts, an order in which at least one of: a computation operation, a communication operation, and an input/output operation associated with the request is performed, based on the global scheduling information assigned to the respective request.
