Managing disaster recovery to a cloud computing environment, including: receiving recovery objectives associated with a dataset that is stored in a primary storage system; creating a cloud-based storage system; suspending the cloud-based storage system; and resuming, periodically and based on the recovery objectives, the cloud-based storage system, including refreshing a copy of the dataset that is maintained by the cloud-based storage system.

HOST BUS ADAPTOR (HBA) VIRTUALIZATION AWARE MULTI-PATHING FAILOVER POLICY

A host device is configured to communicate over a network with a storage system comprising a plurality of storage devices. The host device comprises a multi-path input-output (MPIO) driver configured to control delivery of input-output (IO) operations from the host device to the storage system over a plurality of paths through the network. The MPIO driver is further configured to identify whether given ones of a plurality of initiators associated with the paths comprise given ones of a plurality of virtual initiator instances, and to identify given ones of a plurality of physical initiator components corresponding to the given ones of the virtual initiator instances. The MPIO driver is also configured to detect a failure of an IO operation over a first path, and to select a second path for retrying the IO operation based on the identification of the physical initiator components corresponding to the virtual initiator instances.

GENERATING DIE BLOCK MAPPING AFTER DETECTED FAILURE

A memory device includes a plurality of memory die blocks and a plurality of memory channels operably coupled to the plurality of memory die blocks and a memory controller configured to identify one or more memory die blocks as being invalid. The memory controller obtains a first matrix storing a mapping of memory channels to memory die blocks and creates a new mapping of memory channels to memory die blocks excluding the invalid memory die blocks. The new mapping is stored in a second matrix and one or more operations are performed on the memory die blocks based on the new mapping.

Device and system including adaptive repair circuit

A device, system, and/or method includes an internal circuit configured to perform at least one function, an input-output terminal set and a repair circuit. The input-output terminal set includes a plurality of normal input-output terminals connected to an external device via a plurality of normal signal paths and at least one repair input-output terminal selectively connected to the external device via at least one repair signal path. The repair circuit repairs at least one failed signal path included in the normal signal paths based on a mode signal and fail information signal, where the mode signal represents whether to use the repair signal path and the fail information signal represents fail information on the normal signal paths. Using the repair circuit, various systems adopting different repair schemes may be repaired and cost of designing and manufacturing the various systems may be reduced.

Automating the failover of a relational database in a cloud computing environment

Described herein is a method, system, and non-transitory computer readable medium for helping customers in accessing data through an application from a replica database, detecting whether the replica database, zone of availability of the replica database, or geographical region encompassing the zone of availability is experiencing an outage or other failure, and re-routing traffic to a backup replica database accordingly. To assess the status of the database, metrics are pushed in a secure manner from a private subnet to a public-facing monitoring agent, achieving a clear segregation of private subnet and public facing components. Further, circuit-breaker logic is included for preventing failure during updating DNS addresses during the re-routing process.

One example method includes performing, as part a planned failover procedure, operations that include connecting a replica OS disk to a replica VM, powering up the replica VM, booting an OS of the replica VM, disconnecting a source VM from a network, and connecting replica data disks to the replica VM. IOs issued by an application at the source VM continue to be processed by the source VM while the replica OS disk is connected, the replica VM is powered up, and the OS of the replica VM is booted.

FAULT TOLERANT MEMORY SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS WITH INTERCONNECTED AND REDUNDANT DATA INTERFACES

A memory system includes dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) components that include interconnected and redundant component data interfaces. The redundant interfaces facilitate memory interconnect topologies that accommodate considerably more DRAM components per memory channel than do traditional memory systems, and thus offer considerably more memory capacity per channel, without concomitant reductions in signaling speeds. The memory components can be configured to route data around defective data connections to maintain full capacity and continue to support memory transactions.

MANAGING DATAPATH VALIDATION ON PER-TRANSACTION BASIS

A technique for managing a datapath of a data storage system includes receiving a request to access target data and creating a transaction that includes multiple datapath elements in a cache, where the datapath elements are used for accessing the target data. In response to detecting that one of the datapath elements is invalid, the technique further includes processing the transaction in a rescue mode. The rescue mode attempts to replace each invalid datapath element of the transaction with a valid version thereof obtained from elsewhere in the data storage system. The technique further includes committing the transaction as processed in the rescue mode.
