SELF-HEALING VIRTUALIZED FILE SERVER
In one embodiment, a system for managing a virtualization environment comprises a plurality of host machines, one or more virtual disks comprising a plurality of storage devices, a virtualized file server (VFS) comprising a plurality of file server virtual machines (FSVMs), wherein each of the FSVMs is running on one of the host machines and conducts I/O transactions with the one or more virtual disks, and a virtualized file server self-healing system configured to identify one or more corrupt units of stored data at one or more levels of a storage hierarchy associated with the storage devices, wherein the levels comprise one or more of file level, filesystem level, and storage level, and when data corruption is detected, cause each FSVM on which at least a portion of the unit of stored data is located to recover the unit of stored data.
HOST BUS ADAPTOR (HBA) VIRTUALIZATION AWARE MULTI-PATHING FAILOVER POLICY
A host device is configured to communicate over a network with a storage system comprising a plurality of storage devices. The host device comprises a multi-path input-output (MPIO) driver configured to control delivery of input-output (IO) operations from the host device to the storage system over a plurality of paths through the network. The MPIO driver is further configured to identify whether given ones of a plurality of initiators associated with the paths comprise given ones of a plurality of virtual initiator instances, and to identify given ones of a plurality of physical initiator components corresponding to the given ones of the virtual initiator instances. The MPIO driver is also configured to detect a failure of an IO operation over a first path, and to select a second path for retrying the IO operation based on the identification of the physical initiator components corresponding to the virtual initiator instances.
Network virtualization policy management system
Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing a network virtualization policy management system. An event relating to a service can be detected. A first policy that defines allocation of hardware resources to host the virtual network functions can be obtained, as can a second policy that defines deployment of the virtual network functions to the hardware resources. The hardware resources can be allocated based upon the first policy and the virtual network functions can be deployed to the hardware resources based upon the second policy.
FAILOVER OF A DATABASE IN A HIGH-AVAILABILITY CLUSTER
As disclosed herein a computer-implemented method for managing an HA cluster includes activating, by a cluster manager, a monitoring process that monitors a database on a first node in a high-availability database cluster. The method further includes receiving an indication that the database on the first node is not healthy, initiating a failover operation for deactivating the database on the first node and activating a standby database on a second node in the high-availability database cluster providing an activated standby database, and ensuring that any additional databases on the first node are unaffected by the failover operation. A computer program product corresponding to the above method is also disclosed.
Maintaining two-site configuration for workload availability between sites at unlimited distances for products and services
A system for maintaining a two-site configuration for continuous availability over long distances may include a first computing site configured to execute a first instance associated with a priority workload, the first instance being designated as an active instance; a second computing site configured to execute a second instance of the priority workload, the second instance being designated as a standby instance; a software replication module configured to replicate a unit of work data associated with the priority workload from a first data object associated with the active instance to a second data object associated with the standby instance, and a hardware replication module configured to replicate an image from a first storage volume to a copy on a second storage volume, wherein the first storage volume is associated with the first computing site, and the second storage volume is associated with a third computing site.
Resiliency director
Systems and methods of orchestrating recoveries of virtual machines protected by a data management systems from a primary system to a secondary system, such that performing the recoveries depends on relationships between the virtual machines. First data indicative of a recovery plan associated with a failover of at least one group of virtual machines is received. The recovery plan includes an application group with data indicative of a hierarchical relationship between the virtual machines wherein each of the virtual machines is associated with an order based on the second data. A plurality of sequences is created in the application group to designate an order of executing a plurality of recoveries for each of the virtual machines. A first recovery is executed in parallel for each of the virtual machines associated with a first sequence and a subsequent recovery is executed in parallel for each of a subsequent set of sequences.
Method of fault management in a network of nodes and associated part of network of nodes
The invention relates to a method of fault management in a network of nodes (2), comprising, for each node considered (2) of all or part of the nodes (2) of the network performing one and the same calculation: firstly, a step of local backup of the state of this node considered (21), at the level of a storage medium (31) for this node considered (21), the link (6) between this storage medium (31) and this node considered (21) being able to be redirected from this storage medium (31) to another node (23), thereafter, a step of relaunching: either of the node considered (21) if the latter is not defective, on the basis of the local backup of the state of this node considered (21), or of an operational node (23) different from the node considered (21), if the node considered (21) is defective, on the basis of the recovery of the local backup of the state of this node considered (21), by redirecting said link (6) between the node considered (21) and its storage medium (31) so as to connect said storage medium (31) to said operational node (23), the local backups of these nodes considered (2), used for the relaunching steps, are mutually consistent so as to correspond to one and the same state of this calculation.
Content stream integrity and redundancy system
A system can include one or more content distribution sites to provide content to one or more content satellite offices for delivery toward a set of destination devices for display. A content distribution site, of the one or more content distribution sites, can include one or more streamer devices. The one or more streamer devices can be associated with a single spoofed Internet protocol (IP) address. The spoofed IP address can facilitate failover among the one or more streamer devices. The one or more streamer devices can be configured to provide the content toward the set of destination devices using multicast with forward error correction (FEC). A content satellite office, of the one or more content satellite offices, can be configured to subscribe to a multicast group associated with the one or more streamer devices. The multicast group can be associated with the spoofed IP address to facilitate the failover among the one or more streamer devices.
Methods for managing clusters of a storage system using a cloud resident orchestrator and devices thereof
Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and computing devices that manages clusters of a storage system using a cloud resident orchestrator includes receiving an application programming interface (API) request from a volume manager device associated with storage volumes. Control messages in a queue intended for the storage volumes are identified. A message processing operation for each of the identified control messages is determined. The determined message processing operation is performed using the volume manager device associated with storage volumes.
