Method for remotely accessing data and local apparatus using the method
A method for remotely accessing data and a local apparatus using the method are provided. An embedded controller determines whether a power management state of the local apparatus is switched to a power saving state when the embedded controller receives a remote control signal through a network unit from a cloud server. The embedded controller activates a first switch unit to switch, such that data received from the network unit is transferred to a storage unit.
Mirrored data storage with improved data reliability
A plurality of arrays of storage devices, each providing dual storage device redundancy, is provided. The plurality of arrays of storage devices includes a plurality of mirrored sets of primary storage devices, each including an even number of at least two or more primary storage devices. Each of the mirrored sets of primary storage devices stores a first and a second copy of data. The plurality of arrays of storage devices also includes a secondary storage device, which is a single physical storage device that stores a third copy of the data stored on each of the plurality of mirrored sets of primary storage devices. The secondary storage device has at least the capacity to store the data stored on the plurality of mirrored sets of primary storage devices. Dual storage device redundancy preserves data if data cannot be read from one or two physical storage devices in any array.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BASEBOARD MANAGEMENT CONTROLLER MOUNTING FOLDER WITH KVM
A method for a baseboard management controller mounting a folder with KVM includes following steps. A first size of a to-be-mounted folder is calculated. A second size of a mirror image file corresponding to the to-be-mounted folder is calculated based on the first size. A default storage path is allocated for the mirror image file, and it is obtained a remaining storage capacity of a disk where the default storage path is located. If the remaining storage capacity is less than the second size, a prompt dialog box, for selecting a user storage path for the mirror image file, is displayed to the user. If the remaining storage capacity of the disk where the default storage path or the user storage path is located is greater than the second size, the to-be-mounted folder is mounted to a server.
Storage device and method of operating the same
The present technology relates to an electronic device. A storage device according to the present technology includes a memory device including a plurality of logical storage areas, and a memory controller. The memory controller controls the memory device to perform a memory operation on an original storage area of the plurality of logical storage areas according to a request of a host, and to perform a mirroring operation of copying the memory operation which was performed on the original storage area in a backup storage area of the plurality of logical storage areas based on whether the memory device is in an idle state.
CACHE PROGRAM WITH BACKUP BLOCKS
Systems, apparatus and methods are provided for performing cache program operations in a non-volatile storage system. A method may comprise issuing a first cache program operation from a storage controller to a non-volatile storage device to write data to a first regular block, writing the data to the first regular block and a copy of the data to a backup block, determining that a program error has occurred while writing the data to the first regular block, asserting the program error to the storage controller, retrieving a mapping between the first regular block and the backup block, issuing a read operation to read the copy of the data from the backup block, reading the copy of the data from the backup block and issuing a second cache program operation to write the data to a second regular block and marking the first regular block as defective.
Availability of a storage system
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for a storage system, a storage system and a computer program product. The method comprises determining a first drive in a drive array is temporarily unavailable. The method further comprises setting the first drive in a frozen state. The method further comprises: in response to receiving a write request for the first drive during the frozen state, pending the write request or recording the write request in a second drive in the drive array. The method further comprises: in response to receiving a read request for the first drive during the frozen state, reconstructing data to which the read request is directed through data stored in a third drive in the drive array.
Multi-level erasure system with cooperative optimization
A data storage erasure system may have a host connected to a plurality of data storage devices via a network controller with each of the plurality of data storage devices and the network controller connected to a pods controller and each of the plurality of the data storage devices having a device controller. A rebuild strategy can be generated with a rebuild module connected to the plurality of data storage devices, the network controller, and the pods controller. The rebuild strategy may be directed to minimize data rebuild times in the event of a failure in the plurality of data storage devices by executing the rebuild strategy in response to a detected or predicted failure in at least one data storage device of the plurality of data storage devices.
Data center
A data center includes: a server including a control plane; a data plane that is configured to receive network connection information from the control plane; and a storage group including a plurality of first storage devices. The data plane may be configured to set connections between the server and the plurality of first storage devices based on the network connection information corresponding to each first storage device of the plurality of first storage devices.
Flash secure erase
A system with storage memory and a processing device has a logical deletion to physical erasure time bound. The system dereferences data, responsive to a direction to delete the data. The system monitors physical blocks in storage memory for live data and the dereferenced data. The system cooperates garbage collection with monitoring the physical blocks, so that at least a physical block having the dereferenced data is garbage collected and erased within a logical deletion to physical erasure time bound.
