The instructions cause, when executed by the controller, the terminal device to perform obtaining printable area information indicating a printable area on a printing medium loaded to the printer, outputting a command instructing printing of a first image to the printer, determining whether a shortening condition is satisfied, a period for the short-time printing process is shorter than that for a normal printing process. When it is determined that the shortening condition is not satisfied, the controller outputs a first command causing the printer to print the first image within a normal printable area on the printing medium. When it is determined that the shortening condition is satisfied, the controller outputs a second command causing the printer to print the first image within a reduced area which is smaller than the printable area.

An information processing apparatus includes one or more processors, and at least one computer-readable medium storing executable instructions, wherein the at least one computer-readable medium and the one or more processors are configured to: cause a first printing setting UI including a plurality of printing setting values corresponding to a plurality of printing setting items to be displayed on a display unit, and cause a second printing setting UI to be displayed on the display unit. The second printing setting UI includes an area for setting contrast, a sample image displayed with the set contrast, and an object for printing the sample image. In causing a printing unit to print the sample image in response to a selection of the object, part of the plurality of printing setting values set in the first printing setting UI are not used, and other remaining printing setting values are used.

A printer includes a print engine, a processor, and a memory. The print engine is configured to print an image on a print medium. The memory stores instructions, the instructions, when executed by the processor, causing the printer to perform: in a case where a plurality of layers is included in a document file that is acquired from one of a storage medium connected to the printer and an apparatus configured to communicate with the printer, determining whether the plurality of layers includes a selection target layer that is a layer corresponding to a same language as a language indicated by language information acquired from an information source; in response to determining that the plurality of layers includes the selection target layer, determining a layer including the selection target layer as a print target layer; and controlling the print engine to print the print target layer.

A method comprises acquiring print setting information related to printing of image data, and, in a case where the print setting information specifies printing using at least special ink, which is ink other than ink for a process color, during printing of the image data, determining a first method as a method of processing for reducing a data size of the image data and, in a case where the print setting information specifies printing using ink for the process color without using the special ink during printing of the image data, determining a second method different from the first method as a method of processing for reducing the data size of the image data.
