Example embodiments of systems and methods for preventing chip fraud are provided. A chip fraud prevention system may comprise a device including a chip, wherein the chip is at least partially encompassed in a chip pocket. One or more connections may be communicatively coupled to one or more surfaces of the chip, and a capacitance member may be coupled to a surface of the chip. The capacitance member may comprise a known capacitance value and the chip may comprise a memory containing an applet, wherein the applet is configured to measure the capacitance value of the capacitance member.

A container is provided, the container including a plurality of sides comprising a bottom side on which items can be placed and one or more wall sides to contain the items, where at least one of the plurality of sides is permeable to a radio frequency (RF) used to identify items in the container, and one or more sides of the plurality of sides comprise an RF shield arranged to block the one or more sides such that radio waves used to identify items in the container are blocked by the one or more blocked sides. The container further includes at least one opening through which items can be placed into the container.

A method of disseminating a message is disclosed. The message is encoding in a barcode. A selected region of the barcode is damaged so as to hinder decoding of the message at a scanning device. The damaged region of the barcode may be occluded from the scanning device in order to enable the scanning device to read the barcode and the message therein.

A wireless device security system for preventing the unauthorized reading of wireless devices by a reader. The wireless device security system generally includes a device holder that is adapted to receive a wireless device for storage, access and removal. The device holder includes an interference tag that interferes with the wireless communications between the wireless device and a reader when the wireless device is positioned at least partially within the device holder.
