RFID SWITCH TAG
Various embodiments of RFID switch devices are disclosed herein. Such RFID switch devices advantageously enable manual activation/deactivation of the RF module. The RFID switch device may include a RF module with an integrated circuit adapted to ohmically connect to a substantially coplanar conductive trace pattern, as well as booster antenna for extending the operational range of the RFID device. The operational range of the RFID switch device may be extended when a region of the booster antenna overlaps a region of the conductive trace pattern on the RF module via inductive or capacitive coupling. The RFID switch device may further include a visual indicator displaying a first color if the RFID switch device is in an active state and/or a second color if the RFID switch device is in an inactive state.
Communication device
To propose a novel and improved communication device which is capable of improving user convenience. Provided is a communication device, including: a solar cell including a light receiving surface configured to receive radiated light; an electric storage device that is installed on a back surface of the light receiving surface; and a circuit board that includes a communication antenna and is installed on a back surface of an opposite surface of the electric storage device to the solar cell.
SELECTING AN APPLICATION ON A CARD
A card includes a secure element hosting a plurality of applications, at least one external interface and a user interface having user-selectable modes. Each mode is associated with multiple applications. A store at the secure element holds response data for responding to the external card reader and correspondence data. The response data includes data about the applications hosted by the card and the correspondence data indicates, for each mode, a correspondence between the mode and the response data to be sent for that mode. The card allows a user to select one of the plurality of modes for use when the card next communicates with the external reader. The card stores a mode indicator indicative of a mode selected by the user at the user interface and stores a usage indicator indicative of whether the card has communicated with an external reader since the mode indicator was stored.

RFID SWITCH TAG
A switchable radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag device comprising: a first RFID module positioned on a first plane; at least one un-tuned antenna section positioned on a second plane, wherein the first plane is positioned parallel to the second plane; a second RFID module positioned on the first plane; a third RFID module positioned on the first plane; and a sliding mechanism configured to move between a first position, a second position, and a third position; and wherein, in the first position, the first RFID module is coupled to the at least one un-tuned antenna section to form a tuned RFID tag, and the second and third RFID modules are detuned and/or inoperable; and in the second position, the second RFID module is coupled to the at least one un-tuned antenna section to form a tuned RFID tag, and the first RFID module and third RFID module are detuned and/or inoperable; and in the third position, the third RFID module is coupled to the at least one un-tuned antenna section to form a tuned RFID tag, and the first and second RFID modules are detuned and/or inoperable.
SELF DECLARING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE USING RESTRICT TRAFFIC LANES
The present disclosure provides various examples of a self-declaring wireless device installed on a vehicle operable to automatically detect, determine and declare occupancy information of the vehicle traveling on a restricted traffic lane to an electronic toll collection (ETC) system. According to one aspect, a process for performing self-declaration by a vehicle traveling on a restricted traffic lane includes the steps of: receiving sensor data collected by one or more sensors installed on the vehicle; determining occupancy data of the vehicle based on the received sensor data; and controlling a wireless transceiver installed on the vehicle to communicate with an electronic toll collection (ETC) system associated with the restricted traffic lane based on the determined occupancy data.
COMMUNICATION DEVICE
[Object] To propose a novel and improved communication device which is capable of improving user convenience. [Solution] Provided is a communication device, including: a solar cell including a light receiving surface configured to receive radiated light; an electric storage device that is installed on a back surface of the light receiving surface; and a circuit board that includes a communication antenna and is installed on a back surface of an opposite surface of the electric storage device to the solar cell.
Portable card with transaction display function
A portable card with transaction display function includes a card body; a microprocessor arranged on the card body; a contact communication unit, a transaction display mode control unit and a power supply unit having a contactless RF antenna, all arranged on the card body and electrically connected to the microprocessor; a transaction display unit arranged on the card body and electrically connected to the transaction display mode control unit. When making a contactless transaction, approach the card body to a read module and the contactless RF antenna of the power supply unit reads electromagnetic wave from the read module and gets induced electric current to enable the transaction. When making a contact transaction, insert the card body into a card reader for the latter to read the contact communication unit and enable the transaction. During the transaction, the transaction display unit will output a transaction message as a notice.
Hybrid document with variable state
A hybrid document includes a document having visible markings, one or more light-controlling elements embedded in or on the document, and a controller including a circuit having a non-volatile memory. The controller is embedded in or on the document and electrically connected to the one or more light-controlling elements for controlling the one or more light-controlling elements. A power input connection is electrically connected to any one or all of the controller, the circuit, the memory, or the one or more light-emitting elements. The memory stores a state and the circuit causes the one or more light-controlling elements to indicate the state. A hybrid document validation machine is adapted to accept one or more of the hybrid documents, change the state of the hybrid documents, and optionally display the state on a display.
