Determination and notification of a location of a building safety system event
Methods, systems, and devices for determination and notification of a location of a building safety system event are described herein. One embodiment includes a method for notifying a user of a fire system event, comprising detecting an event in a building through an event detection device and transmitting information about at least one of the event or the event detection device to a remote server and to a first computing device. The first computing device may include a memory wherein floorplans of each floor of the building are stored. The method may further comprise determining, based on the information and through the first computing device, a floor of the building on which the first event was detected; transmitting a particular floorplan of that floor to the remote server; determining a specific location within the floor at which the first event was detected; generating a visual floor representation, including an indication of the specific location, based on the particular floorplan and the specific location; and transmitting the visual floor representation to a software application comprised of executable instructions stored in the memory of a second computing device to present the visual floor representation to a user.
Systems and methods for vehicle-based alert systems
An example method is disclosed, the method comprising: (i) detecting, via a first sensor of an alert system configured for use with a vehicle, a living being inside the vehicle; (ii) measuring, via a second sensor, an environmental feature inside the vehicle; (iii) based at least on the detection of the living being and the measured environmental feature, determining, an alert condition inside the vehicle; (iv) selecting a first computational action based at least on the determined alert condition; (v) transmitting an instruction that causes a component of the vehicle to perform the selected first computational action; (vi) selecting a second computational action based at least on the determined alert condition; and (vii) transmitting, via a network interface, to at least one computing device that is remote from the alert system, an instruction that causes at least one remote computing device to perform the selected second computational action.

PROTECTIVE SHIELD WITH DISPLAY
A portable shield includes a protective shield and a handle attached to the protective shield for holding and carrying the portable shield from a first side of the protective shield. The portable shield further includes a battery and a display element powered by the battery. The display is configured for electronically displaying an instructional message that is visible from a second side of the protective shield at a distance, wherein the second side is opposite the first side. The portable shield further includes electronic circuitry powered by the battery that is configured for selectively displaying the instructional message on the display element. In some examples, the portable shield may wirelessly receive information regarding the instructional message from a base station along with other instances of the portable shield.
MONITORING OF PATIENT SUPPORTS
A hospital bed is configured to monitor data from a second patient support based on the one or more alarms set by the user. The hospital bed detects whether an alarm triggering event occurred based on the monitored data. In response to a determination that the alarm triggering event occurred, the hospital bed will provide a signal indicative of the alarm triggering event to a nurse call system.
Airline travel reminder assembly
An airline travel reminder assembly for displaying flight information for a traveler includes a wrist band that is issued to a traveler at a check in point of an airport. A display unit is issued to the traveler at the check in point of the airport. The display unit is programmed to contain flight information for the traveler and the display unit is removably coupled to the wrist band when the display unit is programmed. The display unit displays indicia comprising the pertinent flight information for the traveler. Moreover, the display unit is in wireless communication with a communication network in the airport to receive updates to the pertinent flight information.
Systems and methods for inspecting additively manufactured components
A system and method for inspecting an additively manufactured component include an additive manufacturing head configured to form a component layer-by-layer, and an electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) configured to inspect one or more layers of the component.
STORE CLERK CALL SYSTEM AND STORE CLERK CALL PROCESSING METHOD
A store clerk call system includes a self-service terminal, a plurality of information terminals, and a store controller. The self-service terminal is configured to perform checkout processing and generate a call-out signal upon receiving a call-out request input from a user. The store controller is configured to receive the call-out signal from the self-service terminal. Upon receiving the call-out signal, the store controller selects at least one information terminal that meets a predetermined condition from the plurality of information terminals. The store controller then transmits an attendance request to the selected information terminal(s). The attendance request causes the selected information terminal to generate a call-out notification.
Analog wellness device
Embodiments are disclosed to monitor and present biometric information for a user wearing a watch. The watch may include a biometrics sensor configured to output biometric signals associated with a user wearing the watch and a processor configured to select one of a plurality of alphanumeric characters based upon the determined biometric information. The watch may include a first disc coupled with a first motor and including the plurality of alphanumeric characters, the first disc positioned under the first window such that one of the plurality of alphanumeric characters, such as a target heart rate zone, is visible through the first window as the first motor rotates the first disc.
