MAPPING AND CHARACTERIZING ACOUSTIC EVENTS WITHIN AN ENVIRONMENT VIA AUDIO PLAYBACK DEVICES
Systems and methods for mapping noise via a plurality of playback devices within an environment are disclosed herein. In one example, a plurality of playback devices can each output audio and also detect sound within the environment to obtain respective sound data specimens. For each playback device, the respective sound data specimen can be analyzed to obtain a respective noise determination. A spatial map of the noise determinations within the environment can then be constructed. A visual representation of the spatial map can further be presented to a user. In response to the noise determinations and/or a user input, the audio output via at least one of the playback devices can be modified, for example to mask or suppress noise within one or more regions of the environment.
VEHICLE NOISE CANCELLATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A vehicle noise cancellation system and method, operable for: receiving local contextual information affecting a soundwave present in a vehicle; receiving remote contextual information affecting the soundwave present in the vehicle; receiving vehicle occupant information; processing the local contextual information, the remote contextual information, and the vehicle occupant information to generate an augmented anti-soundwave; and delivering the augmented anti-soundwave to an occupant of the vehicle to mitigate the soundwave present in the vehicle. Delivering the augmented anti-soundwave to the occupant of the vehicle to mitigate the soundwave present in the vehicle may include delivering the first augmented anti-soundwave to an occupant present in the first zone of the vehicle and delivering the second augmented anti-soundwave to an occupant present in the second zone of the vehicle using a plurality of speakers.
ANC system
An ANC system includes an AD converter which performs AD conversion on an external noise signal, an ANC signal generator which generates an ANC signal for canceling a noise component arriving at the ears of a user based on an output signal of the AD converter, and a level detector which detects a level of the output signal and causes the ANC signal generator to power down in response to the level. The level detector measures a time for which the level is equal to or less than a predetermined first threshold value, causes the ANC signal generator or a portion of blocks of the AD converter to power down after the measured time exceeds a predetermined value, and causes the ANC signal generator or a portion of blocks of the AD converter to return from the power down when the level exceeds a predetermined second threshold value.
SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE AND SIGNAL PROCESSING DEVICE, COMPUTER PROGRAM, AND SOUND DEVICE
Provided is a signal processing device that performs noise canceling by combining a feedforward method and a feedback method. A signal processing device includes: a correlation calculation unit that calculates a correlation between a first sound pickup signal by a first microphone installed outside a predetermined region and a second sound pickup signal by a second microphone installed in the predetermined region; a determination unit that determines the correlation; and a control unit that performs control based on a result of the determination. The control unit controls execution of signal processing for generating a cancellation signal to be output within the predetermined region from the first sound pickup signal and the second sound pickup signal or output of the cancellation signal.
ADAPTIVE NOISE CANCELLING FOR CONFERENCING COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
A communication system with a noise cancellation (NC) assembly providing adaptive or dynamic noise cancellation. The NC assembly includes a localizer module determining, during a communication session (active speaking or during idle times), a location of the active talker. The NC assembly includes a beam generator forming a beam in the determined direction of the active talker to enhance the active talker speech. Once the NC assembly has determined the position of the active talker, the NC assembly assigns a microphone of the microphone array or generated beam in that active direction to be the “active signal” source. The NC assembly assigns a second microphone or beam to be the noise source for NC purposes, and this source may be selected to be in acoustic shadow of the first microphone used as the active signal source or may be the farthest away in its position from the active talker's position.
Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation Based On Movement
A speaker system includes a speaker, a processor, and an active noise cancellation (ANC) circuit communicatively coupled with the processor. The ANC is configured to apply ANC on audio signals from outside the speaker system to generate a modified audio signal stream through the speaker. The application of ANC is to include generation of ANC signals to interfere with at least part of the audio signals from outside the speaker system in the modified audio signal stream. The processor is configured to determine of low-frequency energy at the speaker system, the low-frequency energy below a threshold frequency. The ANC circuit is configured to, based on the determination of low-frequency energy at the speaker system, perform a corrective action on application of ANC to the audio signals from outside the speaker system.
ACTIVE NOISE CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HEADPHONE
In certain aspects, an active noise control (ANC) method and system for a headphone are disclosed. It is determined whether a music signal is played by a speaker of the headphone. Responsive to the music signal not being played by the speaker and a noise level of an ambient noise signal being greater than a noise threshold, a set of noise feedforward (FF) signals is obtained based on a set of FF microphone signals acquired by a set of FF microphones of the headphone. A noise feedback (FB) signal is obtained based on a first FB microphone signal acquired by a FB microphone of the headphone.
