MAGNETIC RECORDING APPARATUS AND MAGNETIC RECORDING HEAD
A magnetic recording apparatus includes a magnetic recording medium; a magnetic recording head including a first magnetic pole part, a second magnetic pole part, and a magnetic flux control part provided between the first magnetic pole part and the second magnetic pole part, wherein the magnetic flux control part includes a first layer provided between the first magnetic pole part and the second magnetic pole part, a second layer provided between the first magnetic pole part and the first layer, and a third layer provided between the second magnetic pole part and the first layer; an electrode for applying a current to the magnetic flux control part; and an electric circuit for energizing the current to the electrode, wherein an oscillation frequency of magnetization of the magnetic layer is greater than a ferromagnetic resonance frequency of the magnetic recording medium.
Magnetic recording device
A magnetic recording device includes: a magnetic recording medium containing a plurality of recording layers; a magnetic recording head for conducting magnetic writing of information in the magnetic recording medium; and a magnetic reproducing head for conducting magnetic reading out of the information from the magnetic recording medium; wherein the magnetic recording head includes a high frequency oscillator for magnetically assisting the magnetic writing of the information so as to change a magnetization of at least one of the plurality of recording layers of the magnetic recording medium, thereby recording a plurality of information different from one another in the magnetic recording medium commensurate with a total amount of magnetization of the plurality of recording layers.
Spin-Orbit Torque SOT Reader with Recessed Spin Hall Effect Layer
The present disclosure generally relates to a magnetic recording head comprising one or more spin-orbit torque (SOT) devices, the SOT devices each comprising a bismuth antimony (BiSb) layer. The magnetic recording head comprises a SOT device comprising a first shield extending to a media facing surface (MFS), a seed layer disposed over the first shield, the seed layer being disposed at the MFS, a free layer disposed on the seed layer, the free layer being disposed at the MFS, a bismuth antimony (BiSb) layer disposed over the free layer, the BiSb layer being recessed from the MFS, a second shield disposed over the BiSb layer, the second shield extending to the MFS, and a shield notch coupled to the second shield, the shield notch being disposed between the first shield and the second shield. The magnetic recording head may be a two-dimensional magnetic recording head comprising two SOT devices.
Magnetic disk device with recording current arrangement
According to one embodiment, a recording-current supplying section configured to supply a recording current used to excite a magnetic pole to thereby make a magnetic flux flow through the magnetic pole, supplies higher recording currents to those of a plurality of magnetic heads, located more outwardly in a direction along a same axis of rotation, as compared to ones of the plurality of magnetic heads, located closer to a middle position of an interval between the magnetic disks arranged at both ends in the direction along the same axis of rotation.
