According to an embodiment, the invention is a topical skin care composition having a dermatologically acceptable vehicle, such as, water and a plurality of ingredients dissolved in the vehicle. The ingredients include: a blend of natural oils; a plurality of vitamins; and 0.1-1 wt % salicyloyl phytosphingosine. The composition is unsuitable for application on the eyelids or eye area. The blend of natural oils includes: Aloe barbadensis leaf juice extract; Cocos nucifera (coconut oil); hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans; and caprylic/capric triglycerides. The plurality of vitamins is selected from a group consisting of vitamin C, vitamin E, salts/derivatives of vitamin C and vitamin E, and mixtures thereof. In one aspect, the plurality of vitamins includes: sodium ascorbyl phosphate; disodium lauriminodipropionate tocopheryl phosphate; and jojoba oil.

Sustained release formulations of dysoxylum binefacterum

The present invention relates to the novel formulation for sustained or delayed release of rohitukine-rich Dysoxylum binectariferum extract/fraction and a process for preparing the same wherein the extract is wet-granulated using excipients i.e. biodegradable polymers and/or non-biodegradable polymers alone or in combination, and the said granules are either filled into a capsule or compressed into a tablet. The said formulation comprising a granulated extract/fraction of rohitukine-rich Dysoxylum binectariferum with polymers has resulted in a sustained release of the extract or fraction over a period of 16-24 hrs. The said formulations are useful in the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
