High Isolation and High Return Loss 2-Port Optical Retro-Reflector
Two-port optical retro-reflectors with high isolation and high return loss are described. Such retro-reflectors are designed to increase the number of optical filtering using one or more filters uniquely disposed to increase the isolation and return loss.
WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXER ARRAY
In an example embodiment, a WDM array includes an optical filter, N common ports, N reflection ports, and N pass ports. The N common ports may be positioned to a first side of the optical filter. N may be greater than or equal to two. The N reflection ports may be positioned to the first side of the optical filter. The N pass ports may be positioned to a second side of the optical filter opposite the first side.

Optical filter device
An optical filter device includes: a first multi-core optical fiber including a plurality of first cores; a first lens; an optical filter which is rotated by a rotation angle about a rotation axis; a second lens; and an optical fiber including cores which the emission light beams from the second lens enter. When directions directed from a reference axis toward one side and another side with respect to the reference axis along an orthogonal axis orthogonal to an optical axis and the reference axis are defined as first and second orthogonal directions, respectively, a circumferential orientation of the first multi-core optical fiber is set so that a separation distance is minimized. The separation distance is a sum of distances from the reference axis to first cores that are most separated away from the reference axis in the first and second orthogonal directions, respectively.
Integrated connector-wavelength division multiplexing device and fiber optic module including such devices
An integrated connector-wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) device includes a housing defining a housing interior and a connector interface having at least one ferrule, a device input optical fiber extending from the housing to carry an input optical beam, a device output optical fiber extending from the housing to carry an output optical beam, and a plurality of channel filters positioned in the housing interior. A first channel filter is connected to the input optical fiber and a second channel filter is connected to the output optical fiber, wherein each of the plurality of channel filters is configured to separate at least one optical signal from a plurality of optical signals of the input optical beam and provide the at least one optical signal to the at least one ferrule. A fiber optic module or submodule having one or more integrated connector-WDM devices is also disclosed.
