OPTICAL CONNECTOR AND OPTICAL CONNECTION STRUCTURE
This optical connector includes a ferrule, a plug frame, and an elastic member. The ferrule holds a glass fiber of an optical fiber. The plug frame receives the ferrule. The elastic member holds, with a first length, the ferrule in a first position in the plug frame, or holds, with a second length shorter than the first length, the ferrule in a second position in the plug frame. When the ferrule is in the first position, the ferrule and the plug frame are in contact with each other via the tapered surface, and the pivotal movement of the ferrule to the plug frame is restricted. When the ferrule is in the second position, the ferrule is not in contact with the plug frame and is pivotable to the plug frame, and the ferrule is in a floating state.
Ruggedized female fiber optic connector cable assembly
The present disclosure relates to a ruggedized female fiber optic connector designed to reduce cost. In one example, features of a fiber optic connector and a fiber optic adapter are integrated into one assembly. In another example, a female ruggedized optic connector is provided with a simple structure having a pre-assembled ferrule alignment sleeve including a ferrule.
FIBER OPTIC CONNECTORS HAVING AN INTERNAL COMPLIANT MEMBER TO COMPENSATE FOR TOLERANCE STACK-UP OF COMPONENTS
Fiber optic connectors are disclosed that may compensate for the tolerance stack-up of components. The fiber optic connector comprises a connector assembly, a body for securing a portion of the connector assembly, an internal compliant member, a connector sleeve assembly, a balancing resilient member, and a housing. The internal compliant member is disposed about a portion of the body and may compensate for tolerance stack-up of components when the fiber optic connector is assembled. The connector assembly comprises a ferrule and a resilient member for biasing the ferrule forward and the connector sleeve assembly comprises a housing and a ferrule sleeve. When assembled, the connector assembly is at least partially disposed in the passageway of the housing and the ferrule of the connector assembly is at least partially disposed in the ferrule sleeve. The balancing resilient member biases the housing of the connector sleeve assembly to a forward position.
Optical connector and method for connecting optical connector
An optical connector includes: an optical receptacle; and an optical plug that is attachable to and detachable from the optical receptacle. The optical receptacle includes receptacle-side connector modules that each include: an outer housing; an inner housing; a receptacle-side ferrule housed in the inner housing; and a receptacle-side spring that applies pressure to the receptacle-side ferrule. The optical plug includes plug-side connector modules that each include: a plug-side housing; a plug-side ferrule housed in the plug-side housing; and a plug-side spring that applies pressure to the plug-side ferrule. The inner housing includes an engagement section. The plug-side housing includes an engaged section.
Connector with vibration tolerance
A connector having a front and rear origination and configured to mate with a mating connector, and including a housing having one or more cavities defined therein, and having a front face with one or more orifices defined therein, wherein each of the orifices corresponds to one of the cavities and has an inner first diameter. The connector further has an optical contact at least partially disposed in one of the cavities, and comprising at least a ferrule extending from the cavity and through the orifice corresponding to the cavity, the ferrule having a second diameter less than the first diameter such that a gap is defined between the ferrule and the housing at the orifice. Finally, the connector includes a compliant member disposed at least partially in the gap and configured to suppress vibration between the housing and the optical.
Optical fiber connecting device with a sleeve ring
A optical fiber connecting device includes a hollow main body, balls, a sleeve ring, and a dust-proof sleeve. An hollow insertion portion of the hollow main body has a receiving recess and ball holes. The balls are received in the ball holes. The sleeve ring is sleeved around the receiving recess and has through holes respectively aligned with the ball holes. Each balls partially protrudes from one of the through holes. The dust-proof sleeve is removably sleeved around the hollow inserting portion and has an inner groove. The balls is engaged with the inner groove to retain the dust-proof sleeve.
Fiber Optic Connector Assembly, Apparatus For Forming A Transceiver Interface, And Ferrule
An fiber-optic connector assembly includes a fiber optic ferrule and a connector, which engage an optical transceiver component. The fiber optic ferrule engages a mating plane of a lens array in the optical transceiver component and floats within the connector. The engagement of the assembly and the optical transceiver component may be removable rather than fixed. The fiber optic ferrule also engages a mechanical interface to account for three degrees of freedom, while the engagement of the mating surfaces account for another three degrees of freedom.
