Micro Hybrid LC Duplex Adapter
20170059784 · 2017-03-02 ·

A hybrid optical fiber adapter comprises a first adapter end configured to receive a first optical fiber connector, and a second adapter end configured to receive a second optical fiber connector of a different type from the first optical fiber connector. The hybrid adapter further comprises a spring configured to couple to the second adapter end such that the second optical fiber connector received into the second adapter end is disposed between the spring and the second adapter end, so as to allow floating of the second optical fiber connector. In one embodiment, the first optical fiber connector is an LC connector and the second optical fiber connector is a micro connector. The hybrid adapter may be coupled to a module such that the second adapter end protrudes into the module, requiring less space inside the module compared to conventional hybrid adapters, without sacrificing optical performance.

Pre-connector and communications device

This application provides a pre-connector and a communications device. The pre-connector includes a connector component and an outdoor component. The connector component includes a ferrule base and a ferrule that is slidable relative to the ferrule base. The ferrule base is configured to fasten the optical cable, and the ferrule is connected to an optical fiber that is of the optical cable and that is inserted into the ferrule base. In this way, the optical fiber can be connected to the communications device by using the ferrule. The outdoor component includes: a spindle that is sleeved on the ferrule base and that is fastened to the ferrule base; and a handle sleeve sleeved on the spindle. The outdoor component is used as a connecting piece to be detachably fastened and connected to the communications device, so as to provide a locking force used when the communications device is connected.

Multi-fiber ferrules may be produced with tapered bodies and guide pin holes that have fluted internal surfaces with projections for engaging the guide pins, and channels for capturing any foreign material that may accumulate on or around the guide pins, thereby providing improved consistency in fiber connections during mating of the ferrules.

Optical fiber adapter

An optical fiber adapter, relating to field of optical communication and comprising: a housing with a chamber having a first and second chamber connected with each other and respectively with two opposite ends of the housing; a retaining member integrally formed with the housing and provided within the first chamber, which is enclosed to form an receiving cavity having a first and second openings at one and other ends, respectively, and a third opening extending along a length direction of the retaining member; a retaining cover plate for detachably connecting to the retaining member to seal the third opening; and a ceramic sleeve provided within the receiving cavity and adjacent to the retaining cover plate, which has a third chamber connected with the first and second opening, and is limited within the receiving cavity. The retaining member is an integrated structure, improving the collimation performance of the adapter.

Fiber optic adapter assembly

A fiber optic adapter assembly is provided with a floating adapter module. The adapter assembly includes a housing, an adapter module, and a single biasing member disposed in the housing and concentrically aligned with the adapter module. The single biasing member can bias the adapter module in a direction toward an end of the housing and be compressible in the opposite direction toward the other end of the housing.
