DISPLAY PANEL
A display panel including a substrate, a light emitting structure layer, a C-plate, and a first bandpass polarizing reflective layer is provided. The light emitting structure layer is disposed on the substrate and includes first light emitting structures. The first light emitting structures have a first peak emission wavelength. The C-plate is disposed on a side of the light emitting structure layer away from the substrate. The first bandpass polarizing reflective layer is disposed between the light emitting structure layer and the C-plate and overlapped with the light emitting structure layer. A reflectance of the first bandpass polarizing reflective layer for light with a wavelength in a first wavelength range is greater than 20%. The first wavelength range is the first peak emission wavelength20 nm.

A display medium comprising: a multilayered substrate including a polarized light separation layer and a phase difference layer; and a first reflective layer provided on a surface of the multilayered substrate on a side with the polarized light separation layer, wherein: the polarized light separation layer can reflect circularly polarized light which has one rotation direction D.sub.A, and can transmit circularly polarized light which has an opposite rotation direction to the rotation direction D.sub.A; the first reflective layer can reflect circularly polarized light which has one rotation direction D.sub.B1, and can transmit circularly polarized light which has an opposite rotation direction to the rotation direction D.sub.B1; and the rotation direction D.sub.A of the circularly polarized light that the polarized light separation layer can reflect and the rotation direction D.sub.B1 of the circularly polarized light that the first reflective layer can reflect are the same as each other.

A liquid crystal compound and a preparation method thereof, an optical cut-off component and a manufacturing method thereof, and display devices. The liquid crystal compound, including: liquid crystal molecules; and chiral additives with certain concentration; wherein the chiral additives are mixed between the liquid crystal molecules, and the liquid crystal molecules are in cholesteric phase, so that the liquid crystal compound can reflect optical waves within the reflection wavelength range.
Liquid crystal display device
A liquid crystal display device includes a backlight that emits unpolarized blue light, a reflective polarizing layer which is provided on an emission side of the backlight and converts blue light to linearly polarized light, a quantum rod layer which is provided on a blue linearly polarized light emission side of the reflective polarizing layer and converts blue linearly polarized light to red linearly polarized light and green linearly polarized light using multiple quantum rods, and a liquid crystal panel disposed on a red linearly polarized light and green linearly polarized light emission side. In the quantum rod layer, a polarization direction of the blue linearly polarized light emitted from the reflective polarizing layer and a long axis direction of the quantum rods are parallel to each other.

Disclosed is an optical film including an optical laminate having two or more laminated light reflection layers of different center wavelengths of reflection and a polarizing element layer. Reflection layers are selected from at least one light reflection layer of both RPRL and LPRL, each having a center wavelength of selective reflection at or within 400 nm and 900 nm, RPRL having a fixed cholesteric liquid crystal phase with a right-handed spiral structure having right-handed circularly polarized light reflectivity, and LPRL having a fixed cholesteric liquid crystal phase with a left-handed spiral structure having left-handed circularly polarized light reflectivity. Layers RPRL and LPRL have center wavelengths of selective reflection shifted from that of a light reflection layer adjacent to each other by an interval of 40 nm or more and 500 nm or less, and the maximum reflectance of optical laminate is 50% or less.

FLUORESCENCE DETECTION DEVICE
According to an aspect, a fluorescence detection device includes: a light source configured to irradiate a sample with excitation light in a circularly polarized state; a sample holder configured to hold the sample; a cholesteric liquid crystal layer configured to transmit fluorescence emitted by the sample due to the excitation light and reflect the excitation light; and a sensor configured to detect the fluorescence transmitted through the cholesteric liquid crystal layer.
ELECTRONIC MIRROR DEVICE
An electronic mirror device for displaying an image captured by a camera mounted to a vehicle includes a liquid crystal display having a display surface, a retarder, and a cholesteric liquid crystal layer. The retarder is disposed opposite the display surface of the liquid crystal display, and circularly polarizes a liquid crystal image emitted from the liquid crystal display. The cholesteric liquid crystal layer is disposed on the opposite side of the retarder from the liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal image circularly polarized by the retarder passes through the cholesteric liquid crystal layer.
Distance-measuring sensor
Provided is a sensor having a high SN ratio. The sensor includes a light source, a band pass filter; and a light-receiving element, in which the band pass filter includes a cholesteric liquid crystal layer that is a layer obtained by immobilizing a cholesteric liquid crystalline phase, the cholesteric liquid crystal layer has a region where a refractive index nx in an in-plane slow axis direction and a refractive index ny in an in-plane fast axis direction satisfy nx>ny, and in a case where a selective reflection wavelength of the cholesteric liquid crystal layer is represented by , the cholesteric liquid crystal layer has a second selective reflection peak at a wavelength /2 and a half-width of the second selective reflection peak at /2 is 30 nm or less.

An optical film that includes a reflective polarizer and a stretched polymer film is disclosed. The stretched polymer film is laminated to the reflective polarizer, and the stretched polymer film exhibits a refractive index symmetry point at an angle of incidence in air of at least about 60 degrees in a plane of incidence parallel to a direction of greatest stretch.
