Direct-lit backlight units with optical films
A display may have a pixel array such as a liquid crystal pixel array. The pixel array may be illuminated with backlight illumination from a direct-lit backlight unit. The backlight unit may include an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on a printed circuit board. The display may have a notch to accommodate an input-output component. Reflective layers may be included in the notch. The backlight may include a color conversion layer with a property that varies as a function of position. The light-emitting diodes may be covered by a slab of encapsulant with recesses in an upper surface.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes: a first panel comprising pixels; and a second panel having a plate surface provided substantially parallel to a plate surface of the first panel. The plate surface of each of the first and second panels includes a curved surface. When the curved surface is a convex portion and two pixels controlled to transmit the light through the first panel are located in the convex portion, a distance between centers of two predetermined regions to which a blurring processing is applied corresponding to the two pixels is set smaller than a distance between the two the pixels. When the curved surface is a concave portion and the two pixels controlled to transmit the light through the first panel are located in the concave portion, the distance between the centers of the two predetermined regions is set larger than the distance between the two the pixels.

The present disclosure provides a display substrate and a display device, belonging to the field of display technology, which can solve the problem that a splicing gap between existing adjacent display substrates of a spliced screen is relatively wide, and a narrow-bezel display cannot be realized. The display substrate of the present disclosure has a display area and a non-display area surrounding the display area; the display substrate includes a base and a plurality of pixel units located on the base and arranged in the display area; each of the pixel units includes a pixel circuit. The display substrate further includes: a light detection circuit located on the base and arranged in the non-display area; where the light detection circuit is configured to detect brightness of ambient light.
Switchable polarization retarder array for active zonal illumination of display
An optical device for illuminating one or more portions of a spatial light modulator includes a waveguide, an array of tunable retarders, and a polarization selective optical element. A respective tunable retarder is optically coupled to receive light from the waveguide. The respective tunable retarder has a first state, which causes the respective tunable retarder to direct light having a first polarization in a first direction, and a second state, which causes the respective tunable retarder to direct light having a second polarization distinct from the first polarization in the first direction. The polarization selective optical element is located adjacent to the array of tunable retarders so that the light having the first polarization propagates from the polarization selective optical element in a second direction and the light having the second polarization propagates from the polarization selective optical element in a third direction distinct from the second direction.
Image enhanced liquid crystal display devices
Backlighting panels for LCD displays are described herein which, in some embodiments, enhance contrast ratio, spatial resolution and/or chromaticity differentiation in images output by the LCD displays. In one aspect, an electronic display device comprises a LCD panel comprising pixels, and a backlighting panel comprising an array of solid state lighting devices of differing color. A color management unit is configured to generate color management signals for controlling chromaticity and/or luminance output of the solid state lighting devices, wherein a ratio of the solid state lighting devices to the pixels of the LCD panel is greater than 1.
Backlight module and display device
A backlight module and a display device including the backlight module are provided. The backlight module comprises a substrate and a plurality of miniature LEDs arranged on the substrate. The plurality of miniature LEDs comprise a miniature LED array, the miniature LED array comprises a plurality of LED sub-arrays, and the lighting parameters of each LED sub-array in the miniature LED array are independently controlled.

The present disclosure provides a curved-surface vehicle-mounted display module, a vehicle-mounted display device and a vehicle. The curved-surface vehicle-mounted display module includes a back plate, a backlight assembly and a liquid crystal panel. The back plate is configured to support the backlight assembly and the liquid crystal panel. The backlight assembly includes a flexible substrate and LEDs. The flexible substrate includes at least one backlight block, each backlight block is provided with a plurality of LEDs, and a distance between two adjacent LEDs is a predefined value.

According to one embodiment, an illumination device includes a first light emitting element, a second light emitting element, an overcoat layer covering the first and second light emitting elements, a first transparent block disposed on the overcoat layer and overlapping the first light emitting element, a second transparent block disposed on the overcoat layer and overlapping the second light emitting element, and an optical sheet group disposed on the first transparent block and the second transparent block. A first side surface of the first transparent block and a second side surface of the second transparent block face each other. An air layer is interposed between the first side surface and the second side surface.

A display apparatus including a liquid crystal panel; and a backlight unit configured to emit light to the liquid crystal panel is provided. The backlight unit includes a bottom chassis; a first interface board disposed on a front surface of the bottom chassis; a plurality of light source modules disposed on the front surface of the bottom chassis, arranged at predetermined intervals, and each of the plurality of light source modules having one end connected to the first interface board; and a second interface board disposed on a rear surface of the bottom chassis and connected to the first interface board.

Disclosed are a curved backlight module and a display device. The curved backlight module includes: an optical film and a lamp board which are oppositely provided, the distance between the optical film and the lamp board being referred to as an optical cavity height; the lamp board is provided with a plurality of lamp bars which extend in a first direction and are arranged in a second direction, a plurality of lamp beads distributed in an array are provided on each of the lamp bars, and the distribution parameters of the lamp beads on each of the lamp bars are the same; and on each of the lamp bars, there is a first distance between two adjacent lamp beads in the first direction, and there is a second distance between two adjacent lamp beads in the second direction.
