POLARISING PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE BUILT INTO THE SCREEN OF AN ELECTRONIC DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device provided with a polarising photovoltaic module includes (a) a plurality of polarisers; (b) a plurality of pixels which emit or transmit light referred to as image light; (c) a plurality of photovoltaic active zones and a plurality of openings, two adjacent photovoltaic active zones forming an opening and said photovoltaic active zones being arranged between the pixels and the polarisers; wherein said polarisers are semi-reflective and are made up of one or more surfaces selected among planar surfaces, which are concave or convex, and have parabolic, conical, pyramidal, tetrahedral, semi-cylindrical or cylindrical-parabolic shapes, said polarisers being arranged so as to concentrate, by reflection, a first linear polarised component of the ambient light onto said photovoltaic active zones, as well as to transmit, through the polarising photovoltaic module, a second linear polarised component of the ambient light or of the image light.
Diffuser for privacy display
A privacy display comprises a polarised output spatial light modulator, reflective polariser, plural polar control retarders and a polariser. A birefringent surface relief diffuser structure is arranged to transmit light from the display with high transparency and provide diffuse reflection of ambient light to head-on display users. In a privacy mode of operation, on-axis light from the spatial light modulator is directed without loss and with low diffusion, whereas off-axis light has reduced luminance and increased diffusion. Further, overall display reflectivity is reduced for on-axis reflections of ambient light, while reflectivity is increased for off-axis light. The visibility of the display to off-axis snoopers is reduced by means of luminance reduction, increased frontal reflectivity and diffusion of ambient light. In a public mode of operation, the liquid crystal retardance is adjusted so that off-axis luminance and reflectivity are unmodified.
ARRAY SUBSTRATE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, DISPLAY PANEL, DISPLAY DEVICE, DISPLAY KIT
Embodiments of the present application provide an array substrate and manufacturing method thereof, and a display panel, display device, display kit. The array substrate includes: a base substrate, and a reflective layer on a side of the base substrate; the reflective layer includes: a plurality of micro-capsules; each of the micro-capsules includes: a plurality of absorbing particles and a plurality of reflecting particles; the absorbing particles are magnetic particles absorbing light; the reflecting particles are non-magnetic particles reflecting light.
Liquid crystal display device having optical sensor
A liquid crystal display device which includes a pair of substrates, a pixel including a liquid crystal element between the pair of substrates, a lighting portion provided on the outer side of the pair of substrates, a first polarizing member between the pair of substrates and the lighting portion, a reflective member provided outside the lightning portion, a second polarizing member on a side opposite to the first polarizing member with the pair of substrates provided therebetween, and a first optical sensor and a second optical sensor. The first optical sensor has a function of detecting illuminance of external light, and the second optical sensor has a function of detecting a color tone of polarized light emitted from the pixel portion. The lightning portion can emits light having a predetermined wavelength depending on the color tone of the pixel portion which is detected by the second optical sensor.
