A display device, a driving method thereof and a display system are disclosed. The display device includes a display panel, a polarizer disposed on a side, where a light emitting surface of the display panel is located, of the display panel, and a phase retarder disposed on a side, where a light emitting surface of the polarizer is located, of the polarizer. The display region of the display panel includes a peep-proof area and a compensation area; the phase retarder includes a first phase retarder and a second phase retarder respectively corresponding to the peep-proof area and the compensation area; both the first and second phase retarder are a quarter-wave phase retarder; and the first and second phase retarder are configured to respectively convert light that is incident into the first phase retarder and the second phase retarder into polarized light with opposite rotation directions, in operation.

BEAM DEFLECTION LAYER AND 3-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

A beam deflection layer includes: a first selective polarization conversion-splitter that splits first color light in an incident light beam into 1A color light and 1B color light having different polarization directions from each other; a first beam deflector that deflects the 1A first first color light in the light beam from the 1A first selective polarization conversion-splitter, a first selective polarization converter that converts polarization directions of the 1A first first color light and the 1B second first color light in the light beam from the 1A first beam deflector, and a 1B second beam deflector configured to deflect the 1B second first color light in the light beam from the first selective polarization converter. The first color light, the 1A color light, and the 1B color light each have a first wavelength band.

A light modulation device is disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a light modulation device includes a first polymer film substrate, a second polymer film substrate, an active liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second polymer film substrates, a reflective layer, wherein the active liquid crystal layer is capable of switching between a first orientation state and a second orientation state different from the first orientation state upon application of a voltage, each of the polymer film substrates has an in-plane retardation of 4,000 nm or more for light having a wavelength of 550 nm, a ratio of an elongation (E1) in a first direction to an elongation (E2) in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction of 3 or more, and wherein an angle formed by the first directions of the first and second polymer film substrates is in a range of 0 degrees to 10 degrees.

The phase difference film includes a first optically anisotropic layer, a second optically anisotropic layer, a third optically anisotropic layer, and a fourth optically anisotropic layer in this order, in which the first optically anisotropic layer is a C-plate, the second optically anisotropic layer is an A-plate, the third optically anisotropic layer is a layer formed by fixing a liquid crystal compound twist-aligned along a helical axis extending in a thickness direction, and the first, second, third, and fourth optically anisotropic layers have a predetermined configuration.
