The driving circuit includes a display control unit, a viewing angle control unit, a viewing angle control voltage generating circuit, and a gamma voltage generating circuit. The viewing angle control unit is connected to the display control unit, the viewing angle control voltage generating circuit and the gamma voltage generating circuit. The display control unit is used to control the display panel to realize picture display. The viewing angle control unit is used to control the display panel to switch between wide viewing angle display and narrow viewing angle display.

An optical dimming device includes at least one polarization rotator configured to switch a polarization of a linearly polarized component of an incoming light between two orthogonal polarizations. The optical dimming device also includes at least one polarizer coupled with the at least one polarization rotator, and configured to output a light having a light intensity reduced to a predetermined percentage of an initial light intensity of the incoming light. The predetermined percentage is substantially the same for different incoming lights having different initial polarizations.

A viewing angle switchable liquid crystal display device includes a display panel. The display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate disposed opposite the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The second substrate is provided with a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode is a common electrode, and the second electrode is a pixel electrode. The first substrate is provided with a third electrode for controlling the switching of the viewing angle. A periodic alternating voltage is applied to the third electrode when the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display device is switched, and a period of the periodic alternating voltage is an even multiple of a refresh period of each frame of the display panel.

A liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a first polarizer plate, and a second polarizer plate. The first substrate includes a first dielectric substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, and a first alignment film. The second electrode includes a plurality of slits and a conductive portion. The second substrate includes a second dielectric substrate and a second alignment film. The first substrate further includes a resin layer disposed between the second electrode and the first alignment film. The resin layer within the plurality of slits is as thick as or thicker than the second electrode. The plurality of slits are filled with the resin layer. A difference in height between the resin layer over the conductive portion of the second electrode and the resin layer within the plurality of slits of the second electrode is 10 nm or more.

ARRAY SUBSTRATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL PANEL

An array substrate and a display panel are provided. Each of sub-pixels is provided with a plurality of display domains. A first electrode retaining wall and a second electrode retaining wall are respectively disposed on both sides of the display domain, and the first electrode retaining wall is electrically connected to pixel electrodes. The second electrode retaining wall is electrically connected to common electrodes, and a horizontal electric field is generated between the first electrode retaining wall and the second electrode retaining wall, such that liquid crystal units in the display domain are aligned horizontally, thereby improving transmittance of the sub-pixels.
