A display panel has a substrate structure in which a short bar connected to a gate line of an electrostatic discharge protection transistor in a non-display area is also used as a repair line for reparing disconnection in a data line. The display panel is capable of protecting a driving circuit of the display panel from static electricity that may occur during a manufacturing process and has a reduced size of the non-display area by using the short bar as the repair line.

The present disclosure provides an array substrate and and a repair method thereof. The array substrate comprises a first metal layer including a signal line; a first repair layer; and a first insulating layer. The first insulating layer is disposed between, and provides insulation between, the first metal layer and the first repair layer, and it is configured to be penetrable to allow the first repair layer to electrically connect the signal line to thereby repair connection weakness of the signal line. The first repair layer can comprise a first repair line, which is disposed over and along the signal line and is configured to be able to electrically connect two ends of a weak connection portion of the signal line through vias penetrating the first insulating layer.

A thin-film transistor array includes thin-film transistors each including an insulating substrate which is formed with a gate electrode, a gate wiring, a capacitor electrode and a capacitor wiring. A source electrode and a drain electrode having a gap therebetween and including a semiconductor pattern are formed, in a region overlapping with the gate electrode on the substrate via a gate insulator, with the semiconductor pattern being covered with a protective layer. Two such TFTs are independently formed for each pixel. In each pixel, two source electrodes are separately connected to two respective source wirings, and two drain electrodes are connected to an electrode of the pixel via individual drain-connecting electrodes. The array includes source-connecting electrodes each connecting between the source electrodes of the two TFTs formed for each pixel. The same drive waveform is applied to the two source wirings.

The array substrate of the present invention comprises: common electrodes, pixel electrodes, common electrode lines and at least one auxiliary common electrode line, and the at least one auxiliary common electrode line is arranged to intersect with and be electrically connected to the common electrode lines. The manufacturing method of an array substrate of the present invention comprises a step of forming common electrode lines and a step of forming auxiliary common electrode lines, wherein the auxiliary common electrode lines are arranged to intersect with and be electrically connected to the common electrode lines. The display device of the present invention comprises the above array substrate.

The array substrate according to the present disclosure can increase the number of data lines or gate lines that can be repaired, improve a utilization ratio of the repair lines, and can be used for repairing a display panel with large area.
