TRANSACTION CARD WITH LUMINOUS DISPLAY
A transaction card with a luminous display includes a card body, an electronic control module, a light emitting module and a light guide module. The card body is provided with a light-transparent frame part around; the electronic control module is provided in the card body; the light emitting module is provided in the card body and electrically connected to the electronic control module; the light guide module is provided in the card body and corresponds to the light emitting module, the light guide module guides a light source of the light emitting module to the light-transparent frame part of the card body.
DIGITAL SIGNAGE SYSTEM, CONTENT PROVISION METHOD, CONTROL DEVICE, AND PROGRAM
A digital signage system displays a plurality of sets of electronic content on a touch panel display so as to be selectable. The system sets a session for accepting the selection of content, accepts the selection of content by the user, and temporarily holds the information about the content selected by the user during the session. After the selection of content, the system creates access information for collectively accessing the held content, issues a two-dimensional code that is based on the access information and can be read using the user's mobile terminal, and displays the two-dimensional code on the touch panel display.
METHODS, MEDIUMS, AND SYSTEMS FOR APPLYING A DISPLAY TO A TRANSACTION CARD
Exemplary embodiments relate to updatable displays for transaction cards, such as credit cards or event passes. The displays may be, for instance, an electrophoretic or memory liquid crystal diode display. The transaction card may include a contact pad capable of engaging in wireless communication. Information may be exchanged between the transaction card and a mobile device or terminal, where a processor on the mobile device processes the received information to generate displayable information. The processor updates the display with the displayable information. The contact pad may be electrically connected to the display, and the display may derive electrical power to perform the updating from the wireless communication. For example, where the wireless communication is a near field communication (NFC), a radio frequency field may be generated that supplies enough power to run the processor and at least partially update the display.
Cards and devices with magnetic emulators with zoning control and advanced interiors
A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. An emulator may include a coil that includes magnetic, ferromagnetic, or ferromagnetic, material in the coil's interior. Coils may be associated with zones. As a read-head is detected to move from zone-to-zone, coils may be activated to transmit information in those zones.
HYBRID DOCUMENT WITH VARIABLE STATE
A hybrid document includes a document having visible markings, one or more light-controlling elements embedded in or on the document, and a controller including a circuit having a non-volatile memory. The controller is embedded in or on the document and electrically connected to the one or more light-controlling elements for controlling the one or more light-controlling elements. A power input connection is electrically connected to any one or all of the controller, the circuit, the memory, or the one or more light-emitting elements. The memory stores a state and the circuit causes the one or more light-controlling elements to indicate the state. A hybrid document validation machine is adapted to accept one or more of the hybrid documents, change the state of the hybrid documents, and optionally display the state on a display.
On card display of data from secured chip
A retrofitted credit card including a certified smart card chip, a display and retrofitted emulation circuitry operative to enable the certified smart card chip to communicate information to the display notwithstanding that the certified smart card chip is configured for communication only with an external read/write device.
Dynamic marker using disappearing ink
Techniques for improving efficiency of an inventory system are described. In an example, operations of the inventory system may involve reading a marker attached with an item. The item may be available from an inventory space. Based on instructions of a computing management module of the inventory system, information about the item may be printed at a first location on a medium. Based on the instructions, a layer of disappearing ink may also be applied over at least a portion of the information. Further, based on the instructions, an identifier of the item may be printed at a second location on the medium. The medium, including the printed information, the layer of disappearing ink, and the printed identifier may form the marker.
Method for estimating a quantity of a blood component in a fluid receiver and corresponding error
A method and system for communicating estimated blood loss parameters of a patient to a user, the method comprising: receiving data representative of an image, of a fluid receiver; automatically detecting a region within the image associated with a volume of fluid received at the fluid receiver, the volume of fluid including a blood component; calculating an estimated amount of the blood component present in the volume of fluid based upon a color parameter represented in the region, and determining a bias error associated with the estimated amount of the blood component; updating an analysis of an aggregate amount of the blood component and an aggregate bias error associated with blood loss of the patient, based upon the estimated amount of the blood component and the bias error; and providing information from the analysis of the aggregate amount of the blood component and the aggregate bias error, to the user.
MEANS FOR TRANSMITTING DATA IN A UNIDIRECTIONAL OR BIDIRECTIONAL MANNER
In some embodiments, a system is provided for transmitting data between a device having a touch screen and a transmitting and/or receiving device. The touch screen may be a capacitive screen and the device may have at least one plate having at least one electrically conductive area, wherein the plate is operatively connected to the touch screen and at least one area is activated.
Location Oriented Membership Code Device
A method, apparatus, and a computer product are provided for a location oriented membership code device. The method includes storing, in a memory of a device, one or more identifiers, wherein each of the one or more identifiers is associated with one or more locations; determining that the device is within a range of a location associated with at least two of the identifiers; selecting which of the least two identifiers to retrieve from the memory of the device based at least partially upon past user behavior; and displaying an indication of the selected identifier on a display of the device.
