The invention provides a temporary installation of a system of RFID-based terminals and user-worn RFID devices within an event interrogation zone. At an event, terminals are located within, and associated with, vendor booths erected in the interrogation zone. User RFID devices are issued to users wishing to enter the interrogation zone. Each user RFID device includes an element worn by the user, and an attached or embedded RFID tag with a stored unique UserID. Products for sampling have unique ProductIDs. The terminals are programmed for: (1) retrieving the UserID when the user enters the vendor booth; (2) retrieving a ProductID of a product sampled by the user; and (3) retrieving the UserID when the user leaves the vendor booth. The UserID and timestamps of entry, departure, and ProductIDs of products sampled are communicated to a server. The system allows tracking of products sampled and user behavior during an event.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PERFORMING PAYMENT TRANSACTIONS

A wearable payment device, such as a finger ring worn by a user, communicates payment data to a payment reader that uses the payment data in order to request a payment transaction. Such wearable payment device may be conveniently carried by and accessible to the user such that utilization of the payment device for the payment transaction is less burdensome for the user, thereby encouraging use of the payment device for payments. Indeed, in some cases, such as when the payment device is implemented as a finger ring or other type of jewelry, the user may be encouraged to carry the payment device in an exposed manner such that it is readily available for the payment transaction without the user having to search in a wallet, pocket, or purse.

Storage and dispensing devices for administration of oral transmucosal dosage forms

Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.

DIAGNOSTIC PATCHES AND BRACELETS FOR PROMOTING PERSONAL AND COMMUNITY HEALTH INCLUDING RELATED PROCESSES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS

Diagnostic patches and bracelets for promoting personal and community health including related processes, methods, and systems are directed to fever patches and fever bracelets for school and university health and wellness including mitigation of the spread of infectious diseases and contact tracing during an epidemic or pandemic. Other populations addressed by these methods include nursing homes, office buildings, and factories as well as the general citizenry of entire cities, counties, states, and even countries at large. Further apparatus and devices include disease detection patches and disease detection bracelets for identifying the onset of an infection and for detecting the present of antibodies to such infectious diseases. Related mitigation and contact methods for several different addressed groups and large populations are also provided for these disease detection patches and bracelets.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR GEOLOCATING AN INDIVIDUAL WITH RESPECT TO A PERIMETER

An improved wearable locator has an ultra-low power RF transceiver, GPS receiver, cellular network RF transceiver, processor, programmable non-volatile memory, LCD display, accelerometer and rechargeable battery. To ensure that the locator is within a perimeter, it can cooperate with a subordinate unit that includes an ultra-low power RF transceiver, processor, power supply, DC charging output, rechargeable battery, visual, audible and tactile enunciators and pushbutton, and can be plugged into an outlet or be unplugged and be mobile. Other wireless units can be used to define a perimeter.

The present invention contemplates a method of activating a wearable device, the method comprising the step of detecting an electromagnetic field generated by a Near Field Communication (“NFC”) transmitter within a detection range of an electromagnetic field detection circuit of the wearable device. In response to detecting the electromagnetic signal, the method further contemplates emitting a trigger signal to trigger a flip-flop, wherein triggering the flip-flop causes a switching transistor to switch between at least one of an activated state and a deactivated state, and wherein causing the switching transistor to switch between at least one of the activated state and the deactivated state, switches a connection between an electronic circuit and a power supply between at least one of a on state and an off state.
