METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR TREATMENT OF VIRAL INFECTIONS

Provided herein are methods of treating or reducing the likelihood of a virus infection, such as a coronavirus infection, by delivering to a subject in need a Chromosome 19 Open Reading Frame 66 (C19orf66) or a regulatory factor that increases expression of the gene encoding C19ord66 in a cell in a subject. The C19orf66 or regulatory factor may be delivered as a polynucleotide (e.g. mRNA or DNA) or as a protein, and may be contained in a vehicle for delivery, such as a viral or non-viral vector. Also provided are polynucleotides, proteins, and vehicles (e.g. viral and non-viral vector) and composition thereof, including for use in the methods.

A NEW PROCESS OF PURIFICATION OF PROTEINS FROM HEN EGG WHITE AND THE USE OF THE SAME AS ANTIVIRAL AGENT AGAINST SARS-COV-2

The present invention describes a novel process for the production of lysozyme HCl from hen egg white (HEW) with high chemical purity, and the use of said antiviral agent against SARS-CoV-2, optionally combined with other antivirals and/or immunosuppressants and ovotransferrin.

IMPROVED CLOTTING COMPOSITION

The present invention relates to improved clotting compositions for producing high quality blood serum samples for analyte testing, such as for pathology testing and other biological assays. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of prothrombin activators in combination with stabilizing agents such as colloids for producing high quality blood serum samples. The present invention also relates to associated methods for preparing clotting compositions, tubes, kits and methods of diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring for responsiveness to therapy.

Disclosed herein are compositions comprising complexes of cyclodextrins and lipid-modified stem cell proteins. Also disclosed are topical compositions the complexes. Methods of using the compositions for the therapeutic purposes are also disclosed as well as methods of producing the compositions.

METHOD OF TREATING OR AMELIORATING METABOLIC DISORDERS USING BINDING PROTEINS FOR GASTRIC INHIBITORY PEPTIDE RECEPTOR (GIPR) IN COMBINATION WITH GLP-1 AGONISTS

Methods of treating metabolic diseases and disorders using an antigen binding protein specific for the GIPR polypeptide are provided. In various embodiments the metabolic disease or disorder is type 2 diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, elevated glucose levels, elevated insulin levels and diabetic nephropathy. In certain embodiments the antigen binding protein is administered in combination with a GLP-1 receptor agonist.

Halogenated Fullerene Functionalized as a Biocidal and Chemotactic Spermicide to Vaginally Harbor and Neutralize Spermatozoa for Use as a Safe and Effective Contraceptive

The present invention provides the methods and composition useful as a contraceptive by preventing motile sperm from reaching a mature ovum, thereby blocking fertilization and preventing pregnancy. The contraceptive is comprised of halogen functionalized fullerene nanoparticles (halo fullerenes) and chemotactic stimulants that act synergistically to divert, incapacitate and ultimately rupture spermatozoa to avert fertilization. When applied vaginally prior to coitus, the suspension is activated by exposure to spermatozoa upon insemination. Notably, non-spermatozoa cells are unaffected by the pH-neutral suspension; however, closer to the same scale, microbes are susceptible to its inherent biocidal properties. Following application and coitus, the contraceptive evacuates naturally, along with seminal and vaginal fluids thereafter.

A method of improving the outcome or recovery for depression, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimers progression, or breast cancer. This method consists of administering a food which includes transfer factor, lactic acid generating bacteria, and/or glucans in appropriate combinations and dosage levels. The food reduces cortisol levels, enhances the immune system, and balances hormones and cytokines. Dosage amounts are dependent on client weight. Consumption frequency and dosage may be adjusted. Typically, consumption of the food is done in combination with established medical treatments.

Nanoparticle fabrication methods, systems, and materials for fabricating artificial red blood cells

A plurality of artificial red blood cell particles includes each particle of the plurality being substantially monodisperse and each particle having a largest common linear dimension of about 5 μm to about 10 μm. The particles can also have a modulus configured such that a particle of the plurality of particles can pass through a tube having an inner diameter of less than about 3 μm.
