MULTIMERIC COMPOUNDS OF A KRINGLE DOMAIN FROM THE HEPATOCYTE GROWTH FACTOR / SCATTER FACTOR (HGF/SF)
Disclosed are multimeric compounds of K1 domains from the Hepatocyte Growth Factor/Scatter Factor (HGF/SF) being able to induce activation of the tyrosine kinase receptor MET and their uses.
Kidney-Targeted Drug Delivery Systems
A composition including an elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) coupled to a kidney targeting peptide and. a therapeutic agent is provided. A method of delivering a therapeutic agent to a subject in need thereof comprising: administering to the subject an effective amount of a composition comprising: an elastin-like polypeptide (ELP), a kidney targeting agent coupled to the ELP and a targeting agent and/or a drug binding domain coupled to the ELP, wherein the ELP includes an amino acid sequence having at least about repeats of the amino acid sequence GVPGX (SEQ ID NO: 1), and wherein the composition enhances the deposition and retention of the therapeutic agent in the kidney relative to the non-conjugated therapeutic.
PROLONGED ANTI-DIABETIC EFFECT OF FIBROBLAST GROWTH FACTOR 1 (FGF1)
Disclosed are compositions and methods for inducing sustained diabetes remission by single administration of FGF1 to the brain. The composition and methods described herein result in basal glucose clearance by using a dosage of FGF1 that is lower than that needed for systemic efficacy and is devoid of the risk of hypoglycemia and changes in body weight, food intake, hepatic glucose production, insulin secretion or insulin sensitivity.
Delamination resistant pharmaceutical glass containers containing active pharmaceutical ingredients
The present invention is based, at least in part, on the identification of a pharmaceutical container formed, at least in part, of a glass composition which exhibits a reduced propensity to delaminate, i.e., a reduced propensity to shed glass particulates. As a result, the presently claimed containers are particularly suited for storage of pharmaceutical compositions and, specifically, a pharmaceutical solution comprising a pharmaceutically active ingredient, for example, RITUXAN (rituximab), AVASTIN (Bevacizumab), LUCENTIS (Ranibizumab) or HERCEPTIN (trastuzumab).
As a result, the presently claimed containers are particularly suited for storage of pharmaceutical compositions and, specifically, a pharmaceutical solution comprising a pharmaceutically active ingredient, for example, HUMALOG (insulin lispro), HUMALOG MIX 75-25 (insulin lispro), HUMALOG MIX 50-50 (insulin lispro), HUMILIN 70-30 (insulin), HUMILIN N (insulin), HUMULIN R (insulin) or GEMZAR (gemcitabine).
ANTI-ACTIVIN A ANTIBODIES AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF FOR TREATING PULMONARY ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION
The present invention provides anti-Activin A antibodies, and antigen-binding fragments thereof, as well as methods of use of such antibodies, or antigen-binding fragments thereof, for treating a subject having pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
METHODS, REGIMENS, COMBINATIONS & ANTAGONISTS
The invention relates to treating or preventing anaemia in a subject, such as a mammal or human. In particular, the invention addresses moderate to severe anaemia. Additionally, the invention provides means for sparing administration of erythropoiesis stimulating agents (ESAs) to subjects.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING PULMONARY HYPERTENSION
In some aspects, the disclosure relates to GDF/BMP antagonists and methods of using GDF/BMP antagonists to treat, prevent, or reduce the progression rate and/or severity of pulmonary hypertension (PH), particularly treating, preventing or reducing the progression rate and/or severity of one or more PH-associated complications. The disclosure also provides methods of using a GDF/BMP antagonist to treat, prevent, or reduce the progression rate and/or severity of a variety of conditions including, but not limited to, pulmonary vascular remodeling, pulmonary fibrosis, and right ventricular hypertrophy. The disclosure further provides methods of using a GDF/BMP antagonist to reduce right ventricular systolic pressure in a subject in need thereof.
MESOPOROUS SILICA COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING INFLAMMATORY CYTOKINES FOR MODULATING IMMUNE RESPONSES
A composition comprising mesoporous silica rods comprising an immune cell recruitment compound and an immune cell activation compound, and optionally comprising an antigen such as a tumor lysate. The composition is used to elicit an immune response to a vaccine antigen.
