METHODS FOR IMPROVED THERAPEUTIC USE OF RECOMBINANT AAV
Provided herein are methods for managing host immune responses to improve therapeutic outcomes in adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene therapy. Such methods may include administering a recombinant adeno-associated vims (rAAV) to a subject following administration of a CD 19 inhibitor, e.g., an anti-CD 19 antibody. The methods described herein can facilitate improved transgene expression, help overcome pre-existing NAbs, and/or permit redosing with the same or substantially similar rAAV or transgene.

Vitamins and alpha keto acid compositions for use in a treatment program for chronic kidney disease patients
A multicomponent treatment program for kidney patients in Stages 3, 4, 4a, 4b, and 5, who are not on dialysis, comprising administering daily a: low nitrogen diet; low nitrogen protein food comprising magnesium and/or calcium salts of alpha keto acids; and time released vitamin. The vitamin comprises the active ingredients of: Zinc; Selenium; Vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, B5, E, and K2; Niacin; superoxide dismutase; catalase; glutathione and Folate; and excludes calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, manganese, fluoride, Vitamin D and K1. The low nitrogen food contains daily up to 300 mg of nitrogen; and at least five alpha keto analogues of magnesium and/or calcium salts of: leucine, isoleucine, methionine (MEMS-II), phenylalanine (PAMS-I), and valine. Methods of making and the chemical structures MEMS-II and the PAMS-I are disclosed. The treatment results in an increase of Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR), a decrease in blood urea levels, and a decrease in creatinine levels.
TOPICAL THERAPEUTIC FORMULATIONS
The invention provides topical compositions and methods for using the compositions. The compositions can be used for the treatment of fibrotic or connective tissue disorders involving scarring, sub-dermal plaque accumulations, or fibrosis of muscle tissue. The disorders can be painlessly treated by the topical application of a composition described herein. One or more calcium channel blocker agents can serve as an active ingredient of the compositions, optionally in combination with, for example, one or more of emu oil and superoxide dismutase. The composition can further include pharmaceutically acceptable carriers that can facilitate the non-invasive transdermal delivery of the active(s) to subdermal sites.

Described herein are methods for reducing an antibody response to uricase therapy, improving the treatment of gout, reducing uric acid levels, and preventing and/or delaying infusion reactions. The methods may include administration of a uricase and a steroid as described herein.

The invention also provides kits comprising the formulations of the invention and a suitable syringe, which in some aspects may be pre-loaded or pre-filled with a composition of the invention.

MITIGATION OF CRYPTOSPORIDIOSIS USING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE-GENERATING COMPOSITIONS
Compositions for preventing or decreasing cryptosporidiosis in animals are disclosed herein. The compositions include sources of hydrogen peroxide and are fed to animals. The animals may be neonatal calves and the cryptosporidiosis may be caused by Cryptosporidium parvum. Methods of preventing or decreasing cryptosporidiosis in animals by feeding the hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions to the animals are also disclosed. Some disclosed methods reduce the number of Cryptosporidium oocysts shed by an infected animal or reduce the infectivity of Cryptosporidium oocysts shed by an infected animal. Some methods include feeding the hydrogen peroxide-generating compositions to animals ultimately afflicted with cryptosporidiosis, and the animals gain weight despite the infection.
ADENO-ASSOCIATED VIRUS FORMULATIONS
