SUBMERSIBLE TRANSDUCER CONFIGURED TO IMPEDE FLUID PENETRATION
20190353545 · 2019-11-21 ·

Submersible transducer includes a transducer housing configured to be submerged within an aqueous liquid and a pressure sensor operable to obtain data for determining a pressure of the aqueous liquid. The pressure sensor may be disposed within the transducer housing. The submersible transducer also includes a submersible cable having an electrical conductor and a venting tube operably coupled to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor uses an atmospheric pressure of an external environment that is detected through the venting tube to determine the pressure of the aqueous liquid. The submersible cable also includes a cable jacket and an inner layer that is surrounded by the cable jacket. The inner layer surrounds the electrical conductor and the venting tube. The inner layer includes a non-hygroscopic polymer that is more resistant to absorbing the aqueous liquid than the cable jacket.

High strength tube joining by rotary friction welding
20240116128 · 2024-04-11 ·

A method of joining tubes with friction welding includes the steps of aligning end walls of tubes to be welded, introducing an intermediate tube segment between the tubes, and bringing the tube end walls together against opposing end walls of the tube segment to put the end walls under axial compressive stress at a friction ramp-up pressure. The method further includes rotating the intermediate tube segment about a tube segment longitudinal axis in at least one direction, increasing the axial compressive friction stress to a forging pressure in order to heat the end parts of the tube and the intermediate tube segment, and increasing the axial compressive friction stress to a forging pressure, thus joining the tubes and the tube segment. The tube segments have a tube wall made of a material resistant to hydrogen embrittlement.

A cable comprising: an electrical conductor; an elastic insulation positioned around the electrical conductor; and a nonconductive jacket positioned around the elastic insulation, wherein the nonconductive jacket is to provide containment of the elastic insulation to limit thermal expansion of the elastic insulation.

WELDED JOINT ARRANGEMENT FOR COOLED POWER TRANSMISSION

A welded connection arrangement for cooled current transmission is disclosed. The welded connection arrangement includes a tubular electrical line designed to conduct current from an electrical load, such as a charging socket, to a storage medium, such as a battery. The tubular electrical line includes a first end for connection to the electrical consumer and a second end for connection to the storage medium. The tubular electrical line is furthermore designed to accommodate a coolant for cooling the tubular electrical line. The weld connection arrangement includes an electrically conductive contact part attached to a respective end of the tubular electrical line in order to contact the same electrically. The weld connection arrangement includes a sealing plug inserted into the tubular electrical line at the respective end and, together with the electrically conductive contact part, is welded to the tubular electrical line in order to seal the tubular electrical line against leakage of coolant.
