Dual-enzyme composition for preventing, treating and/or alleviating veisalgia and symptoms associated therewith
A composition includes two exogenous enzymes from animals for consumption by human beings to prevent, treat and/or alleviate veisalgia and/or symptoms associated therewith arising from or caused by consumption or spontaneous production of alcohol through a dual-enzyme based breakdown of the alcohol, wherein a first enzyme of the two exogenous enzymes is capable of converting alcohol into a first metabolite while a second enzyme thereof is capable of converting the first metabolite into a second metabolite which is excretable to systemic circulation after an oxidation reaction of the alcohol in the presence of the two exogenous enzymes and NAD.sup.+/NADH, and wherein the first enzyme to the second enzyme is in a molar ratio of 1:3-51 in the composition in order to avoid an elevation in the level of the first metabolite in the human being.

The polysaccharide-peptide composite is prepared from a bitter melon peptide (BMP) powder, gardenia fruit oil, a soybean polypeptide powder, an oat dietary fiber powder, a konjac powder, a corn silk, a mulberry leaf extract, a Poria cocos extract, a hawthorn extract, nutritional yeast and a pancreatin. The BMP powder is prepared by temperature-controlled hydrolysis, staged enzymatic hydrolysis and multiple filtrations. The gardenia fruit oil is prepared by staged enzymatic hydrolysis, multi-step centrifugation, filtration and stratification.

Provided are dietary supplement composition comprising one or both of L-theanine and a trace mineral complex, optionally in combination with bioactive peptides, in an amount or amounts individually or in combination effective to promote gut health. Further optional components include a fiber oligosaccharide prebiotic, a polyphenol prebiotic, and a polynucleotide or blend. ANTIMICROBIAL PREPARATION FROM FERMENTATION YEAST PRECIPITATE
Provided are methods of making and using an antimicrobial composition, optionally including adding one or more enzymes to a suspension of lees, wherein the lees was formed by fermenting fruit with yeast and the one or more optional enzymes comprise a protease, a carbohydrase, or a combination of a protease and a carbohydrase; and forming a dried lees by drying the lees. In some examples the fruit includes chardonnay grapes, pinot noir grapes, cabernet franc grapes, or a combination of any two or more of chardonnay grapes, pinot noir grapes, and cabernet franc grapes; the yeast includes one or more Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains of yeast; and drying the lees by heating it. In some examples, trub made from fermenting a grain such as barley is used instead of lees. An antimicrobial composition made as provided may be administered to an animal to inhibit bacterial growth.
