Tripping device for an electrical switching unit and electrical switching unit including such a tripping device
A thermomagnetic trip assembly includes a thermal trip, a magnetic trip, and first and second actuation levers. The thermal trip includes a bimetal strip that is capable of deforming in order to actuate the first actuation lever. The magnetic trip includes a movable armature, a fixed armature and an electrical conductor. The movable armature is capable of moving in order to actuate the second actuation lever. The electrical conductor and the bimetal strip are electrically connected in series with one another between first and second connection terminals of the trip assembly. The movable armature is connected to the first connection terminal, the fixed armature is connected to the second connection terminal, and the respective contact areas of the fixed armature and of the movable armature are made of electrically conductive materials that exhibit a low degree of mutual weldability.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CHARGE CONTACTOR WELD CHECK
A power distribution system for a vehicle includes contactors that selectively electrically couple a charger to a high-voltage bus. The contactors are closed at the start of a charge event in an order that alternates for successive charge events. Upon completion of the charge event, the last closed contactor at the start of the charge event is opened first and a weld check is performed. If the weld check is indicative of a welded contactor, then the weld check is performed on the other contactor.
DOUBLE-CONTACT SWITCH HAVING VACUUM SWITCHING CHAMBERS
A double-contact switch includes: a first and second tubular vacuum switching chamber formed as partial switching chambers of a switching tube; an electrode fixed in the switching tube and arranged between the first and second vacuum switching chambers and having a first fixed contact projecting into the first vacuum switching chamber and a second fixed contact projecting into the second vacuum switching chamber; a first electrode arranged in the first vacuum switching chamber and movable within the first vacuum switching chamber in an axial direction thereof, the first electrode having a region which bears a contact and is closed off in a gastight manner relative to an exterior of the first vacuum switching chamber; a second electrode arranged in the second vacuum switching chamber and movable within the second vacuum switching chamber in an axial direction thereof, the second electrode having a region which bears a contact.
Switching device, movable body, power supply system and switching method
[Object] To provide a switching device in which it is possible to suppress an occurrence of an arc while preventing a contact welding of a switch. [Solution] Provided is the switching device including: a first circuit breaker mechanism provided in a path of current output from a direct current power supply; a second circuit breaker mechanism that is provided in parallel with the first circuit breaker mechanism in the path of current output from the direct current power supply, and is connected and disconnected with a time lag from the first circuit breaker mechanism; a capacitor provided between the direct current power supply and the second circuit breaker mechanism; and a discharging unit that is connected in parallel with the capacitor. A disconnection speed when the first circuit breaker mechanism is disconnected and a capacitance of the capacitor are set such that a dielectric strength voltage rises faster than a rising speed of a charging voltage of the capacitor, in a case where resistance of a load that receives a supply of the current from the direct current power supply is minimal.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR VACUUM BOTTLE CONTACTS OF AN ELECTRICAL SWITCHING DEVICE
A control device for a movable contact relative to a fixed contact of a vacuum bottle of an electrical switching device. The control device comprises a principal mechanism for disconnection and connection of the contacts, of the mechanical energy accumulation type. The control device further comprises an auxiliary disconnection-assistance mechanism arranged such as to accumulate mechanical energy when the movable contact is moved towards the connection position and such as to restore the mechanical energy thus accumulated in such a manner as to exert an additional disconnection force in the form of an impact tending to move the movable contact from the connection position towards the disconnection position when the movable contact is immobilized in the connection position despite the action of the principal disconnection force. The additional disconnection force may, in particular, be transmitted by a strike arm entrained in rotation through the action of an auxiliary disconnection spring until one of the ends thereof strikes a lever of the principal mechanism or a component connected to the lever.
