HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERFACE SYSTEM

One variation of a touch sensor system includes a set of touch layers: spanning a first area; and including a set of electrodes. The system further includes a set of inductor layers: arranged below the set of touch layers; spanning a second area less than the first area; and including a set of spiral traces defining an inductor. The system also includes a magnetic element arranged below the set of inductor layers and defining a first polarity facing the inductor. The system further includes a controller configured to: read a set of electrical values from the set of electrodes; interpret a force magnitude of a touch input based on the set of electrical values; and in response to the force magnitude exceeding a force magnitude, drive an oscillating voltage across the inductor to induce alternating magnetic coupling between the inductor and the magnetic element.

Knob device for vehicle

A knob device for vehicle includes a knob unit and a locking unit. The knob unit includes a rotating cover, a rotary shaft and a motor configured to drive the rotating cover to vibrate. The locking unit includes a rotary wheel which includes a main body fixed to the rotary shaft and locking notches formed at a periphery of the main body. The locking notches are sunk from the periphery of the main body toward a center of the main body in radial directions of the main body. The locking unit further includes a locking pole configured to be inserted into one of the locking notches to block rotation of the rotary wheel, and an actuator configured to drive the locking pole to move. The knob device applies a locking unit which is capable of locking the rotary wheel, thereby realizing diverse use requirements.

A fade device includes a processor that couples a crossfader to a mixer, the processor using crossfader input to apply an acceleration or a latency to an audio signal passing through a mixer.

Multiple-position momentary electrical push switch with configurable activation zones
11810734 · 2023-11-07 ·

A momentary electrical push switch that can be configured for 2 or more activation positions. The switch has a top surface, or “key” top, which is pressed down upon in different areas to actuate the switch's different activation positions. The key top can be of various shapes, such as quadrangles, circle, hexagon, etc., or irregular shapes, to suit a particular application. The key top can be divided into multiple segments, or activation zones, each corresponding to a different activation position of the switch. The key allows free-form movement when pressing down upon it, without requiring the user to use specific or narrowly-defined motions to actuate the various activation positions.

Keyboard containing airbag and method for adjusting tactile feedback to user operating the keyboard

A keyboard includes a substrate, a plurality of key structures, and an air pump. Each key structure includes a keycap disposed on the substrate, an air bag between the keycap and the substrate, and an electrical contact point between the keycap and the substrate. The airbag deformed when the keycap moves towards the substrate, applying a reaction force onto the substrate, and returns to an original state when the keycap is released. The air pump can adjust an air pressure in the airbag by charging or allowing discharge of air, so as to adjust the force applied by the deformed airbag to the substrate, thereby adjusting a tactile feedback to user for pressing the keycap.

Touch sensing device

A touch sensing device including a housing, a movable part, a covering, and a lifting actuator. The movable part is relatively movable within an opening of the housing relative to an edge portion of the opening, between first and second heights. The covering includes a flexible layer covering at least the edge portion and the movable part. The flexible layer includes first and second portions directly or indirectly fixed to the edge portion and to the movable part, respectively. The flexible layer can partly flex and stretch or partly shrink in accordance with a relative movement of the second portion relative to the first portion, from a third height to a fourth height, or vice versa. The lifting actuator can move the movable part or the edge portion to relatively move the movable part, from the first height to the second height, or vice versa, relative to the edge portion.

Device and Method for Providing Haptic Feedback to a User

Devices and methods for providing haptic feedback to a user. A first solenoid is constructed and arranged to move a first magnetic object to a first end of the first solenoid where the first magnetic object can be felt by the user when a current is supplied through the first solenoid. A second solenoid is constructed and arranged to move a second magnetic object to a first end of the second solenoid where the second magnetic object can be felt by the user when a current is supplied through the second solenoid. The first and second magnetic objects have different shapes so as to provide different haptic feedback sensations to the user.

INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM VARIABLE FEEL INPUT DEVICE

A portable information handling system keyboard includes plural keys that each have a programmable variable-feel response to an end user experience with key interactions in real time. In one example embodiment, a magnetic-rheological fluid is disposed in a chamber of the key to pass through openings formed in a piston that moves downward with a keypress and upward in response to a biasing mechanism, such as a spring disposed in the chamber. Current applied to a coil around the chamber creates a magnetic field that varies the viscosity of the fluid so that key compression and range of motion associated with an input as well as key movement to a raised position are programmable to adjust based upon a sensed key position and movement.
