Fenestration unit monitoring apparatus with tethers and methods
The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus with tethers are configured to retrofit an existing fenestration unit to incorporate components that are capable of monitoring the locked or unlocked status of the existing lock assembly and/or the panel position status of a movable panel of the fenestration unit. The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus include a lock status sensor located on a tether such that the lock status sensor can be positioned within an existing fenestration unit lock assembly when a monitor housing of the fenestration unit monitoring apparatus is located on the fenestration unit adjacent the fenestration unit lock assembly.
LATCHING RELAY AND METHOD THEREOF
A latching relay may be shown and described. The latching relay may use a reed switch, a permanent magnet and a coil. The permanent magnet may be magnetized by pulsing current through the coil, and demagnetized by degaussing current. Also, the magnetized magnet may maintain an activated state of the reed switch, and the demagnetized magnet may maintain a deactivated state of the reed switch.
Slot-based fenestration unit monitoring apparatus and methods
Fenestration unit monitoring apparatus configured to retrofit an existing fenestration unit to incorporate components that are capable of monitoring the locked or unlocked status of the existing lock assembly and/or the panel position status of a movable panel of the fenestration unit. The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus described herein may provide a relatively easy and aesthetically pleasing option to monitor the lock status and/or panel status of an existing fenestration unit with an existing lock assembly already located thereon. The fenestration unit monitoring apparatus may be inserted into an existing lock assembly slot in a frame member of an existing fenestration unit that already contains a lock assembly without requiring removal of the lock assembly from the lock assembly slot.
Fenestration unit monitoring devices and methods
Fenestration unit monitoring devices described herein are configured to retrofit an existing fenestration unit lock assembly to incorporate components that are capable of monitoring the locked or unlocked status of the existing fenestration unit lock assembly and/or the panel position status of a movable panel of the fenestration unit. The fenestration unit monitoring devices include a monitor housing configured for mounting on the surface of a frame member on which a fenestration unit lock assembly is already mounted. The monitor housing of the fenestration unit monitoring device includes a lock cavity such that a portion of the fenestration unit lock assembly is located in the lock cavity formed between the monitor housing and the surface of a frame member to which the monitor housing is mounted.
WIRE FOR REED SWITCH, REED PIECE FOR REED SWITCH, AND REED SWITCH
There is provided a wire for a reed switch used for a material of a reed piece comprised by a reed switch, the wire being composed of an iron-group alloy containing Fe and 0 mass % or more and less than 10 mass % of Ni, with a total content of the Fe and the Ni satisfying 10 mass % or more and less than 20 mass %, with a balance of Co and an impurity, the iron-group alloy having a cubic crystal structure, the wire having a Curie temperature of 900 C. or higher and a specific resistance of 15 .Math.cm or less at normal temperature, a ratio of a thermal expansion coefficient of a glass tube comprised by the reed switch to a thermal expansion coefficient of the wire for the reed switch being 90% or more, the wire having a diameter of 1 mm or less.
